Friend has just posted this on social media and it got me thinking.

So I was thinking about the dessert and then saw a friend's picture of a beach and suddenly thought, if a dessert touches a coastline, is that a beach? or is that part of the dessert? If it's a beach and part of it is a nudist beach, how far in land can you come before you have to put clothes on?

If a desert meets the sea, it's a beach as far as the high water tide. A nudist beach starts and ends at the sign post.
