(Ignore any mistakes I make or if I've posted this in the wrong section, this is the first time I'm starting a thread)
I've never had this before on here, but recently I've received a few messages saying "long time no speak", "hello stranger", or anything that implies I've spoken to these people before..
I look at their photo/username and automatically feel bad because I don't recognise them so I go on their profile to see when I last messaged them, and it turns out I never have! (Unless they have a new profile)
Does this happen a lot? Does anyone understand the point in it?
At first I thought I must look like someone they've spoken to before, but I doubt that now
I don't know if I'm just irritable today but it's starting to annoy me.. |

I get a lot of these, I just block them.
More annoying are the people you've met (and decided to not meet again) who message pretending to not remember you. Rude. |

Somewhere on the M62 between 24 and 14 |
Hi stranger, long time eh??
Other than the above Ive only ever used it with people that I generally have not spoke to in ages, but it looks like it works as an icebreaker. Don't know how it would get you after the first couple of mails though, but to get your foot in the door is always good |

"I find it irritating. I'd rather someone try and get this Sheila interested in a fair dinkum way than by using subterfuge. Right, I'm off to chuck a kangaroo on the Barbie "
Haha I agree! Have fun |

As I have an obscenely bad memory I can't remember if I've spoken to some people before,so I check out their profile and say no thanks if I'm not interested |

I recognise your name but can't see a photo to comment, but I did notice your filters & I'm 23 so it may have been you doing the "polite put down" |

I can't send the "no thanks" messages, makes me feel uneasy after some of the abuse some "men" send back |

"Its to get you to talk to them, or at least pay attention to them and on that front it seems to have worked! "
This exactly, what's more annoying, is the fact that I rack my brains for a while, trying to decide, whether I have had contact with them before, and start wondering if I'm loosing my marbles.... |

I've had it loads and like you always check the profile to see if I actually have spoken to them before, i do have a good chuckle at the ones who try it in the hope I'll reply though! |

It does open up the possibilities for some fun with replies!
"How are you? Did the sex change op go on?"
"Long time no speak - hope you managed to get that jar out of your arse eventually?"
"Hey! How's you? Looks like hanging those weights off your cock did/didn't (*delete as appropriate) work!"
"Sorry - I've no idea who you are. Can you send me your full name/address/bank details to jog my memory?"
A |

We get it too. It's usually total bullshit, a way to get you to respond. We like it, as it's a sure sign somebody is a real sad sack, and hence makes blocking easy. |

Abusive messages don't bother me. I've only had a couple and I deleted them |
