I'm driving a golf with adaptive or assisting cruise control? It avoids you hitting the car in front. I'm finding it hard to set a cruise speed - II think you set a max and min speed. Thanks for any help.

I have it.

There is adaptive cruise control or speed limiter.

If you turn on the ACC and set the speed to 70, it will the ask distance you want to maintain between you and the car. Then it will keep that distance and vary the speed accordingly. If you go to over take you will feel the car speed up to the set speed.

It's a few buttons to press though

We have adaptive cruise control and you just set the speed with one click on the steering wheel control. The other toggle with the chevrons let's you set the distance that you want the braking to start to take effect.

Thanks guys. I've got to set it with on, then click the left hand button - I think its on the indicator lever, but nothing comes up for distance etc afterwards.

I've used their standard cruise control before, on an older model, but this one is perplexing to me.

Thanks for any further details, as I'm feeling silly not being able to grasp ACC.

I've not hit anything without it, more trying to use it for cruise control, with the added benefit that I hit the back of nothing.

Addaptive cruise control, prefer the accelerator pedal myself.

Self controlled cruise control

I like to use the accelerator too, but on long road journeys it's very comfortable to just be able to take your foot off and cruise along at a steady speed.

I'm not assuming a great risk of a crash, merely wanting to know how to set this thing, so it does actually cruise.

Thanks again anyone who knows how to fix up the settings!
