shortly after message is read feature work? As in, how soon after the message being read are they removed? I always thought this would be a good feature, and I've just noticed that it's been introduced, but I was just wondering what it actually does. |

If you are talking about programs like SnapChat - the app downloads the photo and then deletes it from the network and doesn't save it after a predetermined amount of time set by the sender.
There are versions which allow you to save the photo to your phone - just as if you pressed power/home on a phone.
Nothing is foolproof. If you send something - don't expect it to be 100% safe and secure. |

I mean on here. There is a feature now for when you send someone a message, you can tick a box and it says it removed your pics shortly after they've read the message for added privacy. |

No, the OP is referring to the new private message option on here when attaching pics: you can set the images to expire so the recipient can receive and view, but not keep. (unless they screen print, download, etc) So it just gives the sender a little more control.
I can't see the expiry timescale though, which would be good to know. |

Didn't know this as I never send people photos - my photos are all in my galleries.
As you can't stop people doing a screen grab - unless Fab release a dedicated app - it's hardly worth the effort implementing such a mechanism. |

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
Admin posted this on another thread about the same thing...
"I just spotted this feature, it's great!
Is the option there on all messages or just those when the option to delete shortly after has been selected? "
All. If you choose to delete shortly after, within 24hrs of the message being read the system will remove the attachments.
