Just got back from Marrakech. We go quite often and always have a great time. Even in January it was warm enough to lay out in the sun from 10am till 4pm but the nights were cold. The weather will be glorious by April. Swinging seems to be non existent but the light is great for photos. Hope you enjoy Morocco as much as we do. |

"Anyone been?
Weather any good in April/May? "
I visited and stayed at the Riad Dar Oulhoum April 2012, absolutely beautiful place but the sun was very tame, it was warm though around the high teens but a little chilli at night and dry all the way through my 10day stay.

We went in July.it was 45 most days!
Went to the city and had a walk around the Souks.
Were taken to a factory that made shoes and handbags.
When I say factory I mean abbatoir |

I was there last Feb too! It was beautiful weather.
I highly recommend Marrakech and there's loads to do. Just don't bother with the Menara Gardens unless you want a photo op, as its a dump. |

"Trip to the Atlas Mountains is good, other than that stay in your hotel complex"
Do not stay in your hotel complex at all as there is so much to do day and night. Don't book a hotel chain but stay in a riad. We stayed in Dar Charkia and were thoroughly spoilt. We felt like royalty there. The souks during the day are a great place to visit , the Atlas Mountains are a good day out but you can go an over nighter. The main square comes alive at night and loads of entertainers and musicians come out. The restaurants are unbelievable and we eat some of the best food we've ever tasted while we were there. There are lots of excursions you can to like hot air ballooning or three day trips into the desert but we found we didn't have enough time in Marrakech itself.
You can do it on a budget or you can spoil yourself rotten , Marrakech caters for all. It was one of our best holidays.
But the main thing is do not just stay in your hotel, get out and enjoy it. The people are wonderful and friendly. |

I went in Oct and the average temperature is meant to be 25. They were having a heatwave and it was 35. Loved Marrakech. Stayed in a hotel in the new city called Hotel Diwane which was a 20 min walk from the medina. The first stop for the tourism buses was directly outside it which was very convenient. Nice hotel overall and the staff were great. |

I have been to Morocco several times. It's an amazing country and while marrakech isn't my favourite destination it is still an incredible place to visit.
I never book accommodation now just get a taxi to tge main square and head in to the soul and find a friendly looking riad |

Was not a great fan of Marrakech the contrast between grinding poverty and wealth was in some places quite hard to stand. Was heartbreaking to see very young children sniffing solvents in the side alleys plus for some reason it was seemed normal to urinate up the walls in some places which made for some smells. Yes it's real but not nice to see. Taking that away that it's quite a place to soak up some winter and the scenery is magnificent.
I do suggest an organised trip into the mountains though
Loved Tangiers for its maritime climate and old world French style.

"Apparently Fez and Casablanca are worth a look too, but are quite a hike from Marrakech. "
I don't remember much of note in Casablanca, other than the King Hassam II mosque. But Fez is incredible and well worth travelling to. The medina is impossible to describe and needs a guide to even attempt to explore it
Essouria is my favourite destination, I love that place
It;s a shame that so many people see no more of Morocco other than Marrakesh. It is full of amazing towns, all with their own feel and characteristics |

This is certainly true. The places mentioned, plus Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Zagora, and the Todra and Dades gorges are all worth a visit. Don't be afraid of hiring a car, but driving in the Atlas mountains can be difficult at this time of year.
Alternatively if you want to be naked on a beach try Fuerteventura! |

Virtually all the beaches in Fuerteventura are clothing optional - even the town beach in Jandia. Perhaps the best beaches are the sand dunes outside Corralejo (near the Rio hotels) again clothing optional. At the southern end there is apparently swinging in the dunes, but we have never seen much action. Not too much to see on the island but the beaches are beautiful. |

Right at the other end of the island in the North. About 40 minutes north of the airport and an hour and a half by car from Jandia. You pass the dunes travelling north.
The beach at Jandia is beautiful. Naturists tend to be on the right of the lighthouse looking out to see.
Incidentally the light in Fuerterventura is great for photographs - many of the outdoor ones on our profile (including the graffiti ones) were taken there. |
