Ive just been talking to a lovely lady friend about being alone.
Does any one else love being alone? I don't mean lonely. I mean spending time just by yourself to do what you want? I can happily sit at home all weekend and chill by myself, or go for a walk on my own and soak up the countryside.
I think alone time is underrated. I love my friends and family but I think I love being by myself more |

I love it, I look forwards to the days all my kids are out and I have the house to myself
I can walk for hours with the dogs and my own thoughts, infact I think I could happily live totally alone |

I love it when my kids are in bed after lots of cuddles and a story and it's just me! Don't get me wrong - I love cuddling up with a handsome friend from time to time - but it would take a very special guy to give up being single for!! Xx |

Solitude allows you to reboot your brain and unwind. Constantly being "on" doesn't give your brain a chance to rest and replenish itself. Being by yourself with no distractions gives you the chance to clear your mind, focus, and think more clearly. It's an opportunity to revitalize your mind and body at the same time. |

I love being alone. More so since having a child.
But saying that, I can't imagine her not running around now.. But I think it's safe to say I count down every day to her bedtime |

We very rarely get alone time together let alone by ourselves. Love to curl up with a good book and revel in the peace and quiet on those rare occasions. |

"I spend quite a lot of time alone and it doesn't bother me, and I quite like doing things like walking on a wild hill alone, or lying on a beach. I'd rather be alone with a horse though
And i'd rather be alone with someone who's hung like one! "

When I'm alone is when I think the most, I don't like thinking, I like people around me so my mind is occupied. Weeknights are fine when my daughter goes to bed at 7pm I'll sit down with my munch and I'll watch the soaps or a documentary or question time or the agenda. Weekends when my daughter goes to her dads every Saturday and stays for the night, I feel like cos I'm free I should be doing something but instead I'm rattling round on my own I've felt it quite bad the last 2 months because my best friends boyfriend has been home from leave in the army and for the last 5 years me and her had been single together so weekends I'd be with her. Felt very lonely since November time!
Really really want a boyfriend, my daughter my friends and family give me so much love but I miss the closeness of having a man. |

I have always liked my own company, it doesn't bother me at all. I love the peace and quiet. I am very social when out with my friends or family, but the evenings when my children are out and I come back to an empty house - bliss!
I have friends who really struggle to be on their own. I now think I have been on my own for so long, I will struggle to ever give that freedom up. |

I love having 'me' time. Even when I have been in relationships. I've valued the times where I can get away and do something where I don't have to please anyone else. It can be reading, watching a movie, walking in the hills. It's just so relaxing.
It's also nice having a balance, I love hill walking with a small group of friends, we've done some seriously good walks. |

I like a little alone time but an hour here or there is fine, I'm happiest when I have people around me. Don't always have to be communicating - working from home is just better when someone is with me. |

I love being alone. Very happy in my own company.
I have my daughter with me full time(not complaining at all) but I long for the days when she visits her dad or grandparents so I can be alone.
Love my family and friends but love to head off on my own...mountain climbing, surfing, horse riding or just holed up in my house alone.
My happy place.

I have 4 kids and husband so time alone is scarce!! I'm a very very sociable person, I hate being alone for too long
At be moment 6 hrs at most is all I can cope with! Nice to get a shower, go to loo with no peeping eyes, lay in bed naked for an hour, laze around with no nagging, make a cuppa and have a biscuit with no one nagging for summat
It's amazing but I do love being surrounded by family & friends |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I live alone and cannot imagine living with anyone again.
When I was ill for a number of years I didn't see or speak to anyone on a Sunday. It was the only way I could recoup my energy for another week of work. I still do this occasionally just to allow my brain a rest.
Alone but never lonely. |

I ave no family an live on my own an ave just a handful of acquaintances an although I do luv being on my own sometimes I miss simples things like a cuddle or a smile. Christmas time is especially hard an I find I shut myself away from it all. There's alot of pros for being alone but deep inside we still need some sort of contact.... |

I'm surprised that no one has taxed being alone, I really value it. I wouldn't want all my time alone and part of its value is by contrast with social time, which I really value too.
I travel from around the world alone, can be fulfilled and content, without others around and am surprised when I meet others who don't.
A benefit of being single atm is that I don't have to do as much to get that me time. |

I love living on my own, I lived with someone for 21 years and family before that, I did not think I would like it as scared of getting lonely however having a good social life, private sex life and buddy's, its great.
Me and my dogs walk for hours, chill at home snuggle up in the winter. garden in the summer life is good. Though there are people out there who need company so never forget them. |

Ah that's what I mean about the horse though - you are not truly alone with your dogs, there are other 'souls' with you.
I relish that non-verbal connection - with horse or human. I don't mind being alone, and I'd rather live alone than with the wrong person, but I most love living with someone special - that close connection suits me best, that's where I thrive.

I honestly can't see me living with another human being again...I like alone time - had a lovely walk down the Sea Wall yesterday and just sat appreciating the silence and the gorgeous view (that's a scenic view, not our own raving pooftah, View). I have my cats for company and friends and family close by if I need to talk about anything, but seldom feel lonely (apart from when I'm ill when I could do with someone for a back rub and sympathy) |

I love alone time. I'm a definite introvert, when I spend too much time in the company of lots of other people I find it very tiring. Always need half an hour or so when I get home from work to wind down before I talk to anyone. |
