Withheld numbers

I run my own small business, so afraid of missing potential work. Withheld numbers tend to be from companies you have no interest in, today took a call from a private individual who turned out to be rude and a total asshole, with an withheld number. I think it is time to stop answering them.

Can you remember the last time someone called with a withheld number that you wanted to speak to?

My parents withold theirs so I have to answer them. Winds me up when I'm caught off guard by a telesales person.

Only get recruiters calling from withheld numbers on my work number, but that's alright.

Menston near Ilkley

Yes several people I have met. I always give people the option of withholding their number when contacting me. It shows I won't harass them.

Not been brave enough to stop answering WN yet, but getting hacked off with the time wasting calls, because I know the genuine companies I deal with always show their numbers.

But on the swinging front, I have had a couple of bad meets, both wouldn't give mobile numbers.

If they dial from a phone memory - get them to prefix your number with 1470 (I think it is) - and you'll see their number when they call.

We get important calls all the time from withheld numbers. They are not just used by sales companies etc. Any company with numerous extensions generally show up as withheld in our experience.

For instance, when my sister worked for GSK, anytime she phoned me it came up as withheld. She definitely wasn't trying to sell me anything
