I actually think if you know your weakness' and faults that suggests you already consider your child's wellbeing and therefore potentially display qualities that are useful in parenting- being able to admit your faults and putting your child first.
I Am broody Occasionally but more often simply feel very blessed with the children we already have. |

my sons in his 30s and thinking about him when he was little makes me feel broody, mainly because you tend to remember the nice bits, when you think of the horrible bits you soon change your mind. |

When my grandchildren were born, when I walk down the baby product aisle in Asda, when I walk past Mamas n Papas, when I see a young couple with a new baby. I'm not even capable of carrying a baby and I still want one. I loved being pregnant |

My youngest is 14 next month, its a nice age, she's independent in many ways but I'm still needed, the thought of having to start again, having someone who needs my 100% undivided attention and looking my freedom makes me feel quite queasy |

I'm constantly broody. I seem to notice every pregnant woman everywhere I go. My best mate has a little girl and even when she's a pain I still want one. I walk through the supermarket and go to the baby clothes thinking "oh I'll pick something up for G", then go to the new born stuff. It's quite sad actually how much time I spend in the baby section. |

I've never really felt broody. I don't know if I'll ever get that urge and desire to have a child. I think it'll possibly happen if I get married, but even that isn't something I really dream of. |

I prefer my kids much better now they are grown up, I don't really like babies or small children though I loved my own I often look back and think how I could have been a better mum but I did my best, now they are older I get on with them so much better, they have never really been a bother, always been good and bought me no trouble I'm really proud of them, I couldn't do it again though |

I'm 35 so to me 20 is young but that's my interpretation of young. Whether someone has been married and divorced it doesn't make them old.. But you do things as you find it's your life and it's you living it not any of us |

Honestly I like kids, and I love my best friends son, but not for me. Not yet at least. There's just so much more I want to do before settling down, I'm only 27, I'd like to travel some more and to be honest I'm quite happy single with no kids. But a cute cat or dog? I'm a complete sucker. Love them. Sounds bad but probably more than kids. I love just chilling with my cat on lazy days. |

This kind of thing sometimes makes me feel a little guilty that I don't want children as I'm pretty sure I could have them with no problems, but I've just never had any maternal urges at all. I have a niece I adore and another on the way, but I just can't imagine ever having one of my own x |

Think it lasted about three and a half minutes back in 1985 when my first nephew was born (sister was considering putting him up for adoption as she was only just 16)...he's 30 this year, utterly gorgeous and a dad himself and I've never had such an intense feeling about a child since I saw him in his cot all alone in the nursery |

The youngest of my three is 14. We're getting our freedom back and generally becoming a couple again. There is no way I could even contemplate another child. I'm too selfish now.
Why not volunteer with a children's group? Scouts? Guides? Then you get to hand them back as soon as the meeting ends. Perfect.
I'm quite happy doing that and substituting children with dogs. I so love my three. They don't answer back, don't eat us out of home and don't require new clothes/shoes every other week.
If only I'd discovered this 22 years ago |

Started at about 19 but didn't actively respond to it. Knew that it made more sense to live some kind of life first and make sure I was financially secure and had my own roof over my head.
Fell pregnant on the pill at 25 with Vince and although the timing still wasn't ideal, we just thought "fuck it, there is never going to be a "right" time".
Both took to it like a duck in water but L.O is only 5 months old and I'm already pining for another...
Again, we're not actively trying but I know I'd regret it once I had two little'uns under the age of two...

I live in fear of pregnancy.
We went from infertility to twins with special needs. It's like the universe went "You REALLY think you want kids so bad? We'll see about that! Muahahahaha!"
My newborns screamed non-stop their first year and from then on it was appointments and assessments and therapy and now we're onto fighting the LEA. Mostly parenting seems to be about form filling and breaking up fights, learning restraint holds and making sure you keep your teeth clenched so when they jerk their head back you don't bite your tongue, and crying a lot (me as much as them).
They are absolutely awesome kids but OMG it is ridiculously hard work.
There are some incredibly amazing special moments but a lot of the time we are too exhausted and stressed to appreciate them. And then the guilt sets in.
I'm only broody for a mythical baby who sleeps through the night and spends most of their time smiling. But that ain't gonna happen. I feel Disney and Spielburg lied. Kids aren't like that! Lol |

I became broody when I met my husband, we waited a few years though, and I too describe the feeling of broodyness as an ache and a yearning, he was the same too
we have 3 beautiful children who are healthy, and I cherish that because I know others aren't so fortunate
no more children for us though, I lost a baby and it scared me so we decided to stay as we are
What an interesting and really quite intimate thread, nice change |

Yep. I swear it's genetic. My husband was a bad sleeper, and still is! And both of us had really vivid nightmares regularly as kids.
I know people who have a good sleeper and go on to have more good sleepers.
Always ask your parents if you were good sleepers before deciding to have children! |

I love babies, when I had my first miscarriage at 19 as it was such an awful way I lost it I was told I'd never have children, I was devastated had to tell my ex husband before we got serious and he still wanted to be with me, then the miracle happened and I got pregnant, terrible pregnancy spent most of it in hospital finally having him at 32 weeks, he was the most perfect baby slept through from 5 weeks and never cried. Then when he was 2 I had another miscarriage and this time I looked at it as though nature was telling me I was only supposed to have one

I'm always broody but neither R nor I can have anymore and I know he'd run a mile rather than adopt. We've got 5 between us anyway aged between 19 and 9 so it's not like we've missed out but that doesn't stop the ache inside. Big hugs to all those who've suffered miscarriages, I feel your pain being a fellow sufferer. I look at my kids and know i'm blessed but that doesn't stop me looking for the one that's missing. |
