Yeah shame that, especially as you can't see bare tits anywhere else.
Nobody wants to buy the sun, murdoch is trying to sell stuff. Tits aren't banned, he made an economic decision to remove them to see if sales go up. You can guarantee if he makes less sales they'll be back. |

Who really buys a newspaper just for page 3? I suspect it will make no difference to sales and it will be back in a few weeks...
Anyway. Why are they called models when they aren't modelling anything? |

It's a win win for Murdoch, he gets to present his rag as slightly more progressive while at the same time using the 'feminazi/pc gone mad' excuse. I think the long term plan is to do away with the print edition and migrate his readership to an online only publication.
Incidentally saw one of those no to page three birds on the news this morning, she had a cracking pair of tits |

I remember when Tony parsons wrote for the name. He was so " right on" with his painfully correct views it wound everybody up. The man went out with Julie birchall ffs! That speaks volumes. Such a left leaning anarchic proto Marxist Zeitgeist surfing old punk, and he goes and writes for the sun. Well he can just fuck right off. He's a cunt. |

Near enough every newspaper loses money hand over first, rich people don't run newspapers to make money!.
And I don't think this decision was Rupert Murdochs or certainly not one based on business.
I can't see feminazis or lefties suddenly rushing out to buy it, so that means he can only lose readers.
I think the timing is the best clue! |

Didn't like him then (I was a Sounds man!), didn't like his shitty, overly sentimental, look how new man I am books and I can't stand the cunt now...so I'm up to 40 years of not liking Tony Parsons! |

Where politics mix with bingo and tits.
Where they offer you a feature
On stockings and suspenders
Next to a call for stiffer penalties for sex offenders
If this does not reflect your view you should understand
That those who own the papers also own this land
And they'd rather you believe
In Coronation Street capers
In the war of circulation, it sells newspapers
Could it be an infringement
Of the freedom of the press
To print pictures of women in states of undress |

It's about time they pulled the plug. It was out of date in the 70s. But I see their newly found moral position doesn't extend to the Internet, as the online version of the paper will still have tits and arse. |

Out-of-date (adjective): no longer useful or acceptable. Not modern or current.
Let me know if I can advise on any other expressions |

No, he only cares about commercial reality, and stopping tits on page 3 is all about appealing to a new generation of readers. There's no victory for feminists here. |

Even funnier is some women don't want to be ornaments for people to look at, and having other women (yeah many of us on here are guilty) propagate the fact that our tits are for looking at and women are a lovely pair of tits, from an initial view of us anyway. Some women want to be taken seriously rather than be objectified.
Tbh i don't think a tabloid is the best place for tits, it's for news, oh ffs i can't even make an argument for it coz the news isn't really news any more it's all shit...
Let them shove the newspapers in a bag on the top shelf like people asked for in the first place. Let people buy some propaganda bits of paper with tits in and everyone is happy. |

Go ahead and buy another paper then and stop trying to convince yourself that anyone but Murdoch has made this decision, for anything other than commercial reasons.
To be honest, the tits will be back soon anyway as the rest of the paper is misogynistic, racist and homophobic, so it's unlikely to get many new converts just because you can't see a pair of tits on page 3 anymore. |

You think models earn a 'decent living' from being on Page 3? Get real. Half of them don't get paid for it.
There's so many other things that are wrong in peoples assumptions above, but people would be best reading the FAQ on the No More Page 3 website.
But then again, I'm a radical feminist. What would I know? |

The Sun has a circulation of over 2 million, the anti page 3 lobby managed to get 215 000 to sign a petition, in our so called democratic country, that means the petition should be dead in the water, but once again, minority get it's way. I don't read the Sun, far too much football and BS stories to be called a newspaper. |

You kinda answered his question that you were berating him for having and that was, why would he remove it if you and he knows it won't increase sales? But certainly lose him sales.
Not that he's bothered about sales as he's run it and many others at a loss for years and years.

I was merely berating his use of 'freedom of choice', pointing out that it works both ways.
As for the sales, he's killing two birds with one stone; he's shutting up the anti-page 3 lobby (for now) and running a market research program at the same time. |

Five years ago before the phone bugging scandal, I used to have a terrible opinion of newspapers and imagined them to be quite unscrupulous..... What I realised after it was my imagination was not quite imaginative enough |

"They will only have dropped it to help sales hard cash talks." .
Except when you've got billions.
The one thing I know about Murdoch is when he does things, it's rarely for the reason you think it as the time.
I mean when they sacked Andy gray and Richard Keane from sky sorts it looked like a simple case of sexism and it was in a way, but with hindsight you realise they were the scapegoats of the whole phone hacking scandal. |
