So one minute the Muslim community are asking to be more involved in the fight against extremism, and yet when they are asked to do so, they complain! Get a grip chaps! |

Here's what the chap from the Muslim Council of Britain said:
"We take the point that your letter was written in good faith, and we agree with your assertion that British values are indeed Islamic values.
"However, we do take issue with the implication that extremism takes place at mosques, and that Muslims have not done enough to challenge the terrorism that took place in our name."
So the OP is misleading. They're not declining to get involved in fighting terrorism, just pointing out that they disagree with aspects of the letter. |

I did not say that the Islamic community is doing nothing, just that they are being asked to get more involved, something that the Muslim Council have asked for themselves. It seems that they are more concerned with avoiding their responsibilities than actually doing what they should be doing. |

The Muslims I know have been discussing how to deflect young, disaffected, people from extremism. This has been going on in Mosques for the last few years. The youth programmes have strands about citizenship and being good British people. What are they avoiding exactly?

They spoke today after the initial media reaction and agreed more could be done to help support the education of, and counter recruitment of, young people ready to commit to terrorism. Nothing is being avoided. |

As Eric `greedy fat twat` Pickles is so keen on responsibility, perhaps he should pay more attention to his diet, exercise and frugal expense claims before moaning about other people`s responsibilities? |

He's on a diet and has lost a couple of stones already, apparently.
