"Is that a new Saturday programme coming soon to our screens?? "
Courtesy of the 'brains' that brought us splash... We get to see 'celebrities' try and cycle on ice, the one with the most teeth left wins |

Ive noticed over the las couple of winters, at least in Essex, that the grit they put down has far less salt in it and far more crushed flint? In a car you wont notice the difference but on a bike the amount of winter punctures has gone through the roof with tiny shards of glass like flint causing the flats |

"Gotta love local authorities that have decided to cut costs by not gritting the roads and not repairing potholes. Dangerous for everyone." .
I'm not a big believer in gritting roads, it's terrible for the environment.
You can buy snow/ice tyres for bicycles as well as cars. But easier still a set of snow chains for your car takes about 15 mins to install.
Grit should only be used for severe frosts. |

Hmm, if I go sideways on the way to or from work, on these lovely fresh mornings, I end up in the canal - assuming the ice on top of it isnt too thick. |

"Driving on ice is bad enough. Cycling or motorcycling on ice? No thanks! "
It gets fun riding on ice, best moment was bringing my R6 back from Warrington industrial estate to Prescot on ice. It taught me a lot about my riding, as you have to be smooth. It also taught me to look at the weather forecast in future, and get a lift into work. |

"It teaches you to ride smoothly, had the pleasure of it this morning. Someone told me fixed wheel is best to ride in slippery conditions."
Fixed is worst in ice |
