Can somebody help me ....

I tried installing Microsoft Office on my new(ish) laptop.

It kept coming up with an error, I googled it and found a few suggestions to get around the problem. I'll do it another time.

But my cd drive won't open now.

I've tried the paper clip trick... doesn't work

I've tried System Restore .... but that won't work either.

Any ideas????

"oh, and restarting pc sorts 90% of probs..."

You know what ... I never even thought of that!! Erm!! It was obviously the first thing I did!!

Even if I hadn't .... System Restore would have done that for me.

Thanks for wasting your time responding oops meant to say "taking the time to respond" ...

don't format it if your drives not working, you won't be able to re-install windows if you do.

Is there a cd stuck in the drive?

This not the best place to as for PC help...

CD drawer not opening is not a software issue, disc jammed in the drawer, try a stiffer paper clip.

MS office, you get a free 60 day trial all works 100% but after 60 days all you can do is open and print docs, no editing etc. Home /student version can be bought for £70 if you look around (Genuine copy) if not try open office 3, free and opens all Microsoft docs...

And

Try and be more specific with your symptoms, helps with the answers, email me if you want, addy in profile. only helping nothing more...
