After 38 years of smoking I have been on a Ecig for 3 weeks now and not had 1 real cig . I think I can say right now that I will never smoke again. So my question is !!
Am I still smoking ? And if people have "Will not meet smokers " on there profile Would they consider meeting someone who smoked a Ecig or not ? Or would you still class me as a smoker ? |

My profile says I won't meet smokers but I will meet vapers, although I'd prefer to know before the meet.
I'd also prefer they vape outside because I don't trust e-cigs entirely.
I have yet to meet anyone who vapes though. My stance may change once I do, if there is a reason that it bothers me. |

"Is change one habit for another however aslong as its taking that smell and nicotine away it's fine and would consider meeting "
What if they use a tobacco flavoured vapour. Will they still smell like a smoker? |

Probably. They'd probably still taste like one. I don't like the taste of tobacco. |

"Is change one habit for another however aslong as its taking that smell and nicotine away it's fine and would consider meeting " yes I totally agree with you. But I know I could not carry on smoking like I was. So it I have a habit of smoking a ecig ( which I do ) then I think it's got to be healthier xx |

The reason I prefer not to meet smokers is because of the smell etc so to me I wouldn't consider you a smoker now as those elements aren't there any more.
Medically.. Are you still a smoker? Well you are still using nicotine although that's only one chemical rather than the god knows how much dodgy stuff is in cigarettes.
But well done. Is your aim to get off the e cig eventually as well? Does the liquid stuff gradually reduce in nicotine content? X |

I have smoke heavily for 38 years so will take some doing to come off everything xx |

"Can I put None smoker on my profile or would that be deceiving and a lie ? "
I'd leave it as smoker for now, but explain that you use an eCig.
I think quite a few people who do not meet smokers would still class it as smoking.
It doesn't bother me, as I will meet considerate smokers, or people who use ecigs, but I know a few folk who are undecided... and the fact that trains/pubs etc have them banned for smoking still colours a lot of peoples judgements. |

My mate's got that book. He keeps reading it but keeps smoking.
Anyway, who cares if I don't give up vaping. Its not the nicotine that kills most smokers, its the chemicals in the smoke. |

First and foremost congratulations Tosh, after such a long time as a smoker you must be feeling great right now. I do think that Ecigs take away the nicotine smell and you cannot taste it when kissing someone like you could with a cigarette, the guy I see now uses a vape and I didn't even know he smoked until he had to change it one evening as he still left the room to use it. |

I stopped smoking 14 months ago and used champix tablets through a smoking cessation group, well done you on stopping as it is very hard but you have just moved ur addiction to an e cig instead of a real one, my mum stopped 3 years ago by using the inhalator and is now addicted to that. Suppose it's better than smoking the real thing though so good luck and we'll done x |

Yep, you are still 'smokin hot'
To me, you are not a smoker anymore. However for health care needs, people are considered smokers until sufficient time has passed for their lungs to recover and heal; and that can take several years |
