Oooh now this is a tough one as I enjoy both tunes equally.
In fact, actually going to be working on learning the guitar solos for both soon.
Great tunes! |

both brilliant but bohemian rapsody wins the greatest song of all time in every music poll so i guess that has to be the best but they are both excellent tunes |

"I liked Bohemien when I first heard it thought it was great so did my dad but it was played so many times I got bored with it." .You see I never got it, I love queen and I think it's not even close to they're best songs. It's just a song that caught the limelight more.
Give me hammer to fall, don't stop me now, Brighton rock, now I'm here, radio gaga or these are the days. every time |

"stairway to heaven is better.
tho not original ..the intro was a ripp off of Spirits Taurus
zep ripped of lottsa bands ..peter grant made sure they got away with it tho" .Yeah buy where does plagiarism/influence start and end, they toured with them so I guess all the notes are in there head at the end of the day, no different than oasis with the Beatles |

well oasis were hardly in the same league ,they just got lucky ..i was and am a massive Zeppelin fan so it was sad to find out how much they did steal from other people ...even whole lotta love was a rip off |

There are about three bars at the start of Taurus that sound like Stairway...and then it's not close enough to call plagiarism! |

I actually remember the night that Bo Rhap featured first time on TOTP and next day in school it was the major talking point. A watershed moment in popular music. The following week it went straight to No.1 in the "Hit Parade" (lol) and stayed there for month.
Stairway to Heaven is not really in the same category of music as it is quite literally a musical epic.
Queen were a popular pop/rock band that targeted the Charts and were made from features on TOTP. Led Zep on the other were legendary enough to be the main feature that made TOTP to be so recognisable even today.
As an aside, I saw Led Zep at Knebworth back in the day and Robert Plant was (to me) a living God. I happened to catch Led Zep on Siy a Arts a couple of months ago only to see Robert Plant as a porky middle aged guy with a goatee..... .

Bohemian rhapsody reminds me of chilling with my friends and holds a special place in my heart as the underage d*unk karaoke song of the group when pouring vodka in your bottle of lucozade and spending the night on a trampoline with a portable stereo seemed like a good idea
Good times lol
Stairway to heaven takes it for me though, I hadn't paid much thought to the song when I was younger but since it was one of the songs for my fathers funeral last year, I have become somewhat affectionate towards it, and much more of the music I was raised on |

"stairway to heaven is better.
The modern version is escalator to heaven.
My vote goes to Led Zep. "
An escalator can never be broken...they just become stairs... |

I didn't realise Ginger Baker played on it |

I don't like stairway to heaven so that answers that. Also my 3 year old insists queen are actually called the king because they're men and she's too young to understand other wise so that goes in their favour |

Glad hotel, freebird and comfortably numb was mentioned should also throw band on the run wings & meatloaf too for epicness.
Its a tough one though I like them both and not sure I can choose between them |

A ridiculous comment. Listen to almost any song and you'll sweat you can hear another bands work and claim it to be a rip off!
The consistency of Led Zep throughout their career is hard to match... Queen are one of those qualified to challenge them though. |

Not really a ridiculous comment when they've been sued and lost on more than one occasion More so on their first couple of albums when they were basically re-imagining old blues tunes and 'forgetting' to credit the original writers! |
