I would love to have someone bring me a brew in bed. Just a simple cuppa tea.

Sadly until my 3 year old is old enough to boil a kettle that won't be happening anytime soon...

The way we both see it is, why only make an effort and be romantic on one day a year? We do things through out the year, like cards for no reason, a small gift and weekends away, and we tell each other a few times a day that we love each other

It will pass by... Like always.

Its a non event.

Romance and passion is not defined by a card and a restaurant full of couples looking each other up and down..

I had a work trip away in a hotel on Valentines day. It was a hotel where the restaurant was over the car park.. No alternatives nearby.

Apart from the bar staff, I was the only one there alone.

South East Midlands NOT

Having a boyfriend on valentines day would be lovely, but highly unlikely!

Just spending quality time with said imaginary bf and doing nice things together would be perfect. A little gift wouldn't be unappreciated but it's certainly not necessary.

I don't assume that those who celebrate it don't do anything else at any other time of year, but I do find the concept of an enforced day of love to be rather odd.

And yes I know no one is forced to do it, but having the day at all implies that everyone should celebrate it.

Valentines day is our wedding anniversary. We did not want to get married on the 14th but believe it or not the venue we wanted did not have the weekend before or after free so we went for valentines instead. We don't tend to celebrate our anniversary on the 14th as like all commercial bullshit, all hotels, restaurants spas etc double their prices overnight. Restaurants especially get my goat as they all charge you more and generally do a fixed valentines menu(I like to choose what I eat when I am paying through the nose for it,not be told).

Whatever we do is done weekend after. When prices have gone back to normal... On the plus side I don't have to buy another valentines card sgain

It's just a day that places like Clintons, card factory, etc, count their profits.

I'd be happy with a hug tbh.

I'm not looking forward to it this year . It's the first since my husband died.

He was one of those that did special things for me all year round he always woke me with a kiss, told me just how wonder I was, hid flowers for me to find sometimes in my car, we would cook together, snuggle up and just be happy .

This year I will see all the lovely Dovey stuff and just be reminded of how special he was how much he loved me and How damn lucky I was to have had him in my life. But mostly how much I miss him.

i rather like valentines day yeah its costly but dosnt mean it has to cost anything as its the thought that counts the most

best thing is if theres a cupid that can post them up without the person knowing whos it from

but at least you get an admirer that does send you one even if its from a very unexpected source
