Yes, we did. Bloody rip-off, but at least we got everything back.

it depends on what data you have lost on your hard drive

there is enough free programs out there that can get it back the main thing is dont write anything else onto hard drive

if its mechanical fault you can still get it by freezing hard drive sometimes works but not always

OK thanks. Windows is unable to run due to a lack of memory on my hard drive. I need to recover the data I have in my documents folder and my Outlook address Address book, as well as the current e mails in my inboxand sent items folders.

I can replace the programme files that I've lost so I am not too worried about those. Excuse my ignorance, but where is the registry data stored?

Hence the enquiry of a data recovery service.

Far cheaper to buy a cheap second hand desktop ebay, put your poorly hard drive into the ebay pc as a second drive and recover the data to usb or CD or whatever. Way cheaper than recovery services.

for what you would pay buying a used one your much better buying new internals and a case as its only 100.00 for a new board cpu chip and memory in a base unit

sounds as if your system is quite old as ive had these systems before

if its taping into your hard drive memory consider managing on what you have or just upgrade to a faster one when you can do
