Just been into an Ann Summers and couldnt believe that a woman had bought her 10year old son into the store. He was just wandering around the store picking up things off displays.... as kids do.
Cant be right can it?? |

Some people just don't have a clue.
Then again, whenever i've been into Ann Summers i've found that they tend to have the Lingerie at the front of the store with the 'more adult' items towards the rear.
Still wouldn't take my kids in there though.
After all, Ann Summers do have a web site that one can make purchases from.
Or how about going in there while he's at school. |

"there are sections where children cant go "
The 'no kids' section in the one near me has huge opening at each end and you can see everything in there. Lol. It's pointless. I've been in there when my lad was tiny and couldn't walk/talk but I wouldn't take him in now. It's too expensive anyway. Hahahha! |

"Well, it's a high street shop and doesn't say over 18s only.
I wouldn't take a child in but they have walked through lingerie sections in department stores with me.
"
There is more than lingerie in there though. |

I totally think you're over reacting. They are only adult toys. Its not like someone is demonstrating them. I wouldn't have a problem taking my kid but im very open with her. I don't feel embarrassed or think sex or anything to do with it something to be ashamed off. Plus its her kid, her choice. Nothing to do with anyone else. |

Apparently it's a local licensing issue, so may be different around the country. Ann summers are a border-line special case and are not classed as a sex shop, so under 18s are allowed to go in. (Unlike a licensed sex-shop) However, normally they are restricted from the 'adult' section, and staff wouldn't normally serve under 18s.
But different shops use their own discretion as to how rigidly they apply these rules.

Apart from the bit at the back with the toys in isn't it essentially just a lingerie shop? Would you say the same if they were in victoria's secret or the knicker department of marks and spencers? |

Mrs ddc took me to Victoria's Secret to buy her birthday present. I soon discovered the secret: you have to be a millionaire to shop there!
£25 for a bit of lace and string? Nowt wrong with 5 pants for a fiver!

"
I have an underwear addiction like shoes"
Lol, I'm half-scottish, so I have a pathalogical aversion to opening my wallet. Mrs ddc's therapy involves dragging me round underwear and shoe shops and flashing what she's not wearing. Works every time! |

"Which has made me think,if someone under 16 wanted to buy a vibrator would they be served?
I seem to remember reading that sex toys aren't to be sold to under 16's " .
That is a quandary.
I suppose they could beat each other round the head with those big double ended rubber things! |
