Try a sports therapist. If you can, find one that works with local sports teams.
The one I used to go to was the lead therapist for the local ice hockey team.
He described himself as a biomechanical engineer and there was virtually nothing he couldn't fix (biomechanically speaking). |

I was hit by a car riding home on my vespa a few months ago, luckily I stayed on so no major injuries and the scooter has only minor damage.
Within 24 hours I was suffering from the most horrendous pain in my shoulder. After visits to the walk in centre a my gp two weeks after that I was told that there was nothing that they could do and I just had to wait for it to heal. My gp told me to expect it to take three months for the damaged muscle to heal sufficiently well enough to not need the heavy duty pain killers she prescribed.
Well, she got that spot on! Three months on and I'm off the medication, and finally able to move my scooter without pain. Hopefully soon the cold weather will ease and I can try riding it again |

You really need deep tissue massage with some manipulation. An osteopath or sports masseur would be best.
Once it has begun to unlock (it will take a few sessions) consider yoga and/or pilates with a good instructor to keep the mobility. |

I know someone else who had the same experience although her massage was in Greece.
Massage and manipulation, in my experience, is much more effective than steroid injections. |

"Mmm that sounds a good idea .. Anyone fancy giving me an unfreezing massage"
Yikes! Go to someone qualified. Well qualified! It's entirely possible permanent damage could be done by someone who doesn't know what they are doing.
My recommendation is still deep tissue massage from a well qualified sports therapist. Be warned though, it will hurt. |

Steroid injections are only a max of three per joint as they elasticate the tendons, and weaken the muscles... Not always the best idea !
Having had a frozen shoulder and both shoulders major surgery from accident injuries... I feel very qualified to comment and one of the best and cheapest things to help is buying a pulley that will hang from a door and then passively raise the affected arm with the palm of your hand facing you and gradually work to bring the shoulder further over and higher but never force it... Pain will slow healing... Passive movement only and take your time, it won't heal or cure over night, can take in bad cases 18 months!
If you want info on where to get pulley etc pm me and I'll help as very simpathetic towards this injury ! |

It took 2years of agony and an MRI scan to get to the bottom of my "frozen shoulder" it really is a loose term , they were going to replace the joint , until the Great Professor William Wallace stepped in . |
