Had to have my dog put to sleep last weekend and I miss her so much. She was always happy and pleased to see me, even though she was very poorly for the last few weeks of her life.
I still feel very guilty, even though there was no chance of a recovery. |

I know exactly how you feel. Its awful.
Only I feel glad that we can have them put to sleep instead of letting them suffer the way people have too. |

I love my dog. She's now 1 and going through adolescent behaviour, she doesn't like the word no etc.
I love walking her and meeting up with our group of dog walkers, I love the fact that through walking the dog I've met lots of new people and I've enjoyed being outside and exercising more. I've very much a doggy person |

My mum had to put Honey down just before new year, it is bloody heart breaking! And I did cry my eyes out as brought memories about when my dog died
They leave such a void when they are no longer here x |

It is always hard to take a dog on its final walk, regardless of what is wrong with it. It is not even consoling to think it is best for them.
It is hard to think that a ball of fluff can become so fill up so much off your life.
You can tell I still miss my last dog. |

They are hard work and can be a pain, like kids can too, but you don't know how much they mean to you till they have gone. |

I've never had a dog and as much as I'd like a lap dog I just wouldn't be able to look after a dog properly.
My mum had golden retrievers beautiful dogs but when the last one got put to sleep they couldn't go through that again.
I know what I'm like with my cats but having a dog would be more like having a small human.
I know my friends mum who is quite I'll would just give up if it wasn't for her dog

I adore my dogs. I have three little ones and they are the centre of my universe. I love them.
We recently last our cat. I wad terribly upset for a couple of days but I know I'll mourn the passing of my canine friends, as I have for all of my dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge. They hold a very special place in my heart, each and every one.

I love all animals I've got cats and dogs, I had one of my cats put to sleep last year he was 17 and had cancer he was to old to operate on and I refused to take him home to live out his last weeks in pain so did what I though was the right thing, after 17 years I missed him so much but even so I don't think you ever really own a cat they are so independent and come and go as they please where as a dog relies on you for everything and I think I'm more attached to my dogs |

Weve got 12. 16 weeks up to 15 years. And a Small. Who, at 2, and not yet talking, has this inate ability to make them do exactly what she wants them to. They are just as much my family as the ragmuffin assorted humans. I lost my old boy in the summer and miss the grumpy old chuff so much. |

I understand the way you feel. I've had to do this for my last three dogs over a space of 30 years. My dogs have been so much a part of my life and my family. They give unconditional love and ask for very little in return.
The best thing you can do for your dog is support them and be there for them when they're in pain and confused. When it's their time you have to do the right thing and help ease their journey from this world.
I am a better person for having known these wonderful animals. Because I can't bear to be without a dog in my life I now try to maintain a minimum of three. |

the day after tomorrow Marshall takes his first ever flight....EasyJet from Luton to Glasgow, I've flown with my previous guide dog, but Marshall is a rather large Black Labrador / retreaver cross, and the allocated spot for us to sit in the aircraft cabin is usually the seats on the right hand side facing the bulkhead. Hmmm, Marshall will just about squeeze in, but there won't be any leg room whatsoever for at least 2 out of the 3 seats, and I'm not sacrificing mine....I hope Easy Jet know what is going to happen, lol
