Inspired by several posts I've read about crappy single male messages to women, I'm curious as to how effective guys on here think their abilities are when it comes to engaging women in conversation, rate yourselves (honestly) out of 10. Women can join in by commenting on whether or not they agree or disagree with the guys scores, pointing out what the guys can do better, etc
I'd give myself 8/10, good overall but sometimes I lack subtlety, or do the complete opposite and don't get to the point quick enough. |

I find that the ladies I have attracted by my messages have taken my dry humour as the smooth talk they need but a lot of others just either don't get me or don't want too!! Lol So if humour works then 8 otherwise 0!!

I find fab is a strange place to begin convos. Il go for a cheeky, funny or pleasant opener and get no replies or very few. Often when I am just being friendly and chatty I get the rude not interested and never would be responses
More vulgar and to the point post do get more replies.
This contradicts a lot of female status I read saying dont talk to me like a piece of meat. |

I am crap at talking to women in a pub/club environment. But, anywhere else, including messaging on here, and my natural affinity comes to the fore.
I have far more to talk with ladies about than guys. I was raised by a single mother who had a lot of similar friends. I listened to mainly oestrogen fed conversation as a child and, as a result, I am unusual amongst guys I know. I struggle to talk about football or beer or careers; but get me onto emotions and feelings and I am away.
Some of the Fab ladies here are way more masculine in their sexual alignment and I have struggled to get base enough for them |

I work predominantly with men and have done for around 3 and a half year. (My last job was half n half). What they call 'banter' sometimes astonishes me - even still now.
The way in which they all think/talk about women is absolutely disgusting, they talk to women fairly normally most of the time but when said woman walks away or as she's approaching....
It makes me very cautious when talking to men now, I didn't realise how bad it actually is.
Yes I know all men aren't the same before you give me shit.
I'm not easily shocked and I live in the real world but is there always an ulterior motive? |

I think most guys have both a sensitive and a bullish side, which one comes to the fore depends on what's going on around them. You have to take the rough with the smooth, ok, so lots of guys are arseholes who are misogynistic simply because they don't understand women, and want to blame their failures as men on them, but don't hate a man just because he can be a bit outrageous or sexist when he's with his mates, after all, you wouldn't want us if we were all a bunch of simpering toadies x

I work predominantly with men and have done for around 3 and a half year. (My last job was half n half). What they call 'banter' sometimes astonishes me - even still now.
The way in which they all think/talk about women is absolutely disgusting, they talk to women fairly normally most of the time but when said woman walks away or as she's approaching....
It makes me very cautious when talking to men now, I didn't realise how bad it actually is.
Yes I know all men aren't the same before you give me shit.
I'm not easily shocked and I live in the real world but is there always an ulterior motive?
I think a lot of testosterone in one place can make guys do or say some pretty extreme things in an attempt to outdo one another, it doesn't necessarily mean that's what they really feel.
