Utter twat.
Incapablbe of interviewing without making it all about him - the person on the couch can barely get a word in.
Thinks he is much funnier than he is.
Lives in a dark age where mysogyny and poor tatse are all right if it's "for a laugh".
Doesnt notice everyone cringing when he drools all over the lastest starlet, Kylie etc and let's her know he'd like to fuck her/has had a wank about her etc etc to her and everyone elses total embarrassment.
His TV show is a total rip off of Letereman etc and shows no originality atall.
A man who has totally lost his touch. In the mid to late 80's, he was actually very good - but has since become a bloated, self important parody of himself.
But having said that, his show isnt really geared at me. It's geared for the "clap like seals when the man on the magic box in the corner tells you to" crowd.

Please re think the meaning of genius.
I like some aspects of Jonathan Ross. He is a good frontman/reporter , nothing more.
I enjoy his show but don't watch indiscriminantly.
I read the blurb and if i like the guests or a guest I watch. What's more I watch it on replay so that I can just tune in to the guest i want to see and not the ones I have no interest in.
Ross is undeniably good. He could do all of what sensual says and play the part of an arsehole. He could equally show the type of demeanour needed when speaking to world dignatories or church leaders.
He's a good husband. Still works hard on his marriage and to all intents and purposes is a much loved father.
Many a Saturday he has made me laugh on the long journey to Scotland.
Black or White opinions don't work. Marmite he is not. |

I don't think whether he is a good husband and father or not is relevant in this context.
This is about his broadcasting "persona", given that what you see and hear is an approximation of the person, but not the unexpurged version.
The persona i see and hear grates with me. He's not a bad broadcaster, don't get me wrong, technically he's as good as any.
For me, he is like marmite - i just switrch off as soon as i see him coming, i know i'm not going to like his style. He could be interviewing Jesus about the second coming, i wouldnt tune in. Just not my cup of darjeeling.
(having said all that, if he WAS going to interview Jesus about the second coming - i'd have some REALLY good questions i'd happily supply to him.)
((strike that, it's Ross - he'd ask Jesus if he thought Kylie was still shaggable now she's 40 - and thats why i don't like him))

Your last line is actually the basis for an excellent comedy sketch. |

i think it is interest how people's opinions of him differ.....
can i add "chris evans" into the mix as well because ... well because I can!! but they both do the same thing......
there TV persona and there radio persona as so different....
I was not the biggest fan of the "chat show".... but loved him on film 2000 and what not because he was 1st and foremost a fan of the cinema......
His radio persona is so different for the one on the chat show that saturday mornings were a joy to listen to him...
same with chris evans....... not the biggest fan of the TV persona.... but on radio they are both brilliant...... |

good job they took the show off when they did as it was dying a death!,the same unfunny routine week after week and recycling the same old jokes,he kept bringing pillocks like ricky gervais(who ever said he was funny?)and his office crewmates on to plug new ventures who just happen to be under the same management and it really did look dead and dreary. |

Ricky Gervais is unfunnier even than Jonathon Ross, and to have them both on the same show is just torture. I'd rather rub my gonads down a rusty cheesegrater then soak them in vinegar than watch those two trying to entertain. |

I never found Ricky Gervais funny and he, along with David Walliams are two men I'd like to slap, and not in an erotic way: smug gits.
Then I was bedridden for a while and my daughter didn't go to college on Tuesday's so would make pop corn, put on a dvd and snuggle up to me.
Ring Trilogy, Harry Potter, torture I tell you then she brought out Extras! What can I tell you: I loved it. The ones with Orlando Bloom, Patrick Stewart and Daniel Radcliffe...hilarious!!
Still want to slap him though! |

It was one of the better programmes on TV that was actually worth watching, so think Jonathon Ross was more, the better of a bad bunch with TV being so crap these days.
So genius here, because anyone who can get such a salary is certainly doing something right, whether we like him or not.

Nooooooooooo he's not a fuggin GENIUSSSSSS !
Einstein Yes , Epstien NO , Ross NO
a good presenter.
Ricky Gervais - for pushing boundaries and making new thigs , posessing pathos - fantastic ! but that inane laugh and self love .... hate it!
Peter Kaye.....I could hold his head under water. Love his progs. Hate his self satisfied fat face fucking self loving posturing. Twunt!
David Walliams - Little Britain .....AWFUL week after week after week.
Add these two :
Vic Reeves - cringingly embarrasing
James Corden - Ricky Gervaise and Peter Kaye rolled into one. |

The only thing i would add is :
He wasn't very good in the 80's either.
Given the opportunity, 100's of others could do a better job at a much lower cost. |

To be fair to James Corden, he is a bit underexposed.
Maybe if he was on telly some more you'd warm to him. |
