Start my day early, helping clients get fitter, healthier and reach there goals.
I personally have been training years now and its a lifestyle not a chore.
Workouts should be fun, consistent and effective.
I love lifting heavy weights and high intensity cardio like boxing....oh and |

Good lad. Rich Piana has a similar ethos and clearly you're both doing well.
I'm training back tonight, can't wait because if I'm honest back is my favourite. I done full body 1-on-1-off until New Year and loved training back every other day, but I've switched back to a split this year basically so I can have no days off. I feel like I'm properly falling in love with the fitness lifestyle / lifting to be honest, all I want to do lately is eat, train, sleep, repeat. I'm still feeling small and fat though. I always feel small but I'm devastated at what bulking has done to my abs so I think it's going to be an early cut this year. I'm tempted to have a little deficit end of the month to be honest. |

Ah the bags of frozen fillets?? I didn't think to look frozen but then I'm not eating as much of it as you. I get 5 big 1/2lb chicken breasts from a local butcher for £5 then freeze them |

I buy my chicken from Macro. All the same size fillets. I pay £25 and get a months supply of chicken, about 20/25 breasts. And it doesn't shrink when it's cooked! A definite plus!! |

For me it had been calorie counting 1600 per day since last Monday. I have also been on my turbo trainer with a program activated on my Polar Heart Rate Monitor. All good until today as I am travelling again this week. Now I am sitting in a Finnish restaurant with a beer, nachos and a order of ribs on the way. Diets and travelling don't work. I'll have to work extra hard when I get home later this week. |

What's macro?? I got told about an online company today called 'muscle food' they sell meat and protein bars, eggs whites and all sorts of other stuff. Looked like quite similar prices to what you just said as well x |

Should do, I'm optimistic it won't take too long but hurting nonetheless. Having a set and losing them is like breaking up with Scarlett Johansson. I've got like a threeish pack. The only way back is the hard way at the end of the day but it shouldn't take me too long. I screwed up in getting sloppy with my macros when I started bulking. Don't get me wrong I'm no bodybuilder - if I'm honest I'm happy with average definition but good explosive, raw strength. Anywhere below 15% bf I'm happy. It's all about strength for me more than size and definition. Long term goals focus more on weight than size and definition for me. But I do throw a bit of hypertrophy and cardio in the mix all the same. |

My advice xx
For all those with good intentions , start slow , resist the urge to go full on until you understand your body and its reaction to excercise and diet change x
Shag, you seem to know what you're doing , however maintaining low body fat and heavy weight training regime , can be perilously close to the health line . Make sure you rest as hard as you train my friend xx |

I've dialled back on the cardio for now as I felt it was becoming a chore (and the gyms choice of largely crappy music aided in that - no I don't own an I-Pod), and I've now placed a much greater emphasis on the weights, which I train heavy every night. |

There's no such thing as spot reduction, so diminishing a soft belly requires fat loss overall, however, ab exercises can firm up the muscles beneath the area, and reduce the wobble (I know this from personal experience) |

Fat reduction everywhere is a nightmare for me. Shows in my face straight away. Maybe it's just getting harder because I'm older |

Great workout last night, I've turned my focus to strength, and managed to lift the entire stack (90kg) on the tricep dip for 9 reps - that's heavier than me though, so amusingly I was actually lifting myself out of the seat on most of the reps |

After a slight blip in December due to, tooth infection and extraction and subsequent dry socket, cold and bad chest infection and Christmas.
I have finally managed to get back to my weight at start of December.
Plans are to continue with gym but get back on the bike once it starts to warm up.
Get down to 85kgs which should be enough for me abs to show.
But generally aim is a lifetime plan to stay fit and healthy.
After years of being obsessed with exercise and training. I am enjoying just doing what I want rather than having to do,as I am not competing anymore pressure is off. (triathlon)
Best thing is jools comes with me to the gym now and loving it |

Well after 4 months of mostly weights with a little bit of cardio it's occurred toe that even though I can lift heavier stuff my actual fitness/stamina is still shit!! So I'm declaring February 'running month' gonna try to get back up to a decent 10k time. The furthest I ever did was 8 in 48 minutes. Since I started working out again in September the most I can manage is 2km! Ha! Plus I'm hoping it'll shift some of the wobble off my legs they aren't shrinking fast enough for my liking they were smaller than this a year ago and I was heavier x |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
Another 2lb off making a total of 36 & 3/4lbs down since September.
Conditioning then a run this morning.. Dreading the run but it's gotta be done!! |

I enjoy running outside but it kills my legs, I've tried many different pairs of trainers and I just can't do it. Tbh I'm only hitting the treadmill in an attempt to slim my legs down a bit it can feel the muscle underneath but the fat isn't going anywhere fast enough lol x |

You can change the insoles in your trainners and put in "shock absorber" ones...they absorb 90 per cent of the shock.....
You can buy them in John Bell and Croydon....it's a pharmacy in Wigmore street.....try it !!!! |

It's a street in London....just behind Oxford Street...
But many of the sports shops do them now...
I used to get problems with my ankles...but not now..
Yesterday i ran 10 miles....
Once you get into running,,it's the only excercise that will shift fat !!!

Where is it hurting? I used to run a lot but had shin splints (possibly caused by returning to running/ netball 10 years ago when I was over weight) which were really painful. It took ages for the splints to just disappear and then I broke my ankles (fractured one/ broke the other). I have suffered with my ankles ever since but the shock absorber insoles do help. I no longer run (or avoid running on hard surfaces) except for netball oh and I cycle. This seems to help tone legs/ bottom especially the cycling. |

"And now butt ache has started to set in.. "
I signed up to fit camp then unsigned again after the first session turned out to be a mega-hard sell of supplements and no exercise at all!
So I'm now walking a lot more. It may not sound much but I live at the top of a very steep, big hill - I am also suffering from butt ache! I'm also swimming for 45 mins twice a week and on a low carb and low fat diet.
I've hit a plateau though and I have a time limit - I'm on the list for some surgery but to get the better version I have to lose another 3 kilos. I've already lost about 15 but this last few just aren't shifting
So any advice on losing 3 kilos in a short space of time? |

Well done!! I've had conditioning this morning which was just short of a 500cal burn. Tomorrow is run day (was meant to be today but I accidentally sat down after conditioning then it was game over) BUT I've just dug out some denim shorts that I last wore 5 years ago before I had my boy. They are a size 10 and they do up no problem. They are too tight round the thighs though so gotta run RUN that leg fat off x |

Ditto, but this year I have a goal. Then after that, another goal. Its best to do it a bit at a time, instead of in one big lump. |

It was Christmas that I had to be careful this time. 2 years ago I lost 2 stone then went on a massive binge over Xmas and didn't stop after that and put it all back on again. This year I was very careful that once Boxing Day was over I was back on it!! Tbh it helps that I'm not calorie counting because I can honestly say I'm never hungry x |

My goals have been in weight increments and I've had different pairs of jeans hanging over my bedroom mirror and been trying them on. I didn't want to say at the beginning I wasn't to lose nearly 4 stone. So I said first goal to lose 10lbs. Then another half storm target after that etc. my new goal at the beginning of the month was to get under 10st by the end if January. I've got 1 & 3/4lbs to shift in ten days. Easy enough to do and little goals mentally help as they are easy to achieve and you don't feel like you're failing trying to go for a huge goal and not doing it x |

Yeah I know what you mean, I know when I put my mind to it I can do it as I have done before and that was just eating better and using one of the Davina McCall workout DVDs, tempted to get the bike out the garage and try and get back into cycling. I loved it when I was younger |

Cant believe I missed this threat at part one lol
Hitting the weight training hard this year as want to compete in northern ireland power lifting next year got my deadlift up to 180 for 5 reps and squat to 210 for 5. Still getting over shoulder injury from last year so overhead press scares the shit out of me atm but sitting at 80 and bench at 100. Feeling stronger but due to training harder and heavier finding it hard to control my food intake |

How so?
Psychologically, the advice for many things is to break them down into individual steps, rather than focusing on the whole, which can seem overwhelming. |

Any ideas just for that one area?
There's no such thing as spot reduction, so diminishing a soft belly requires fat loss overall, however, ab exercises can firm up the muscles beneath the area, and reduce the wobble (I know this from personal experience) "
Some research suggests you can

Also rather embarrassingly I've recently got myself the new Made in Chelsea workout DVD and that's worked me out pretty good so far although I haven't tried every section on it yet. |

Your body actually produced cholesterol anyway through the liver, we need it, eating lots of eggs means that for the most part the liver will just produce less so it's not gonna raise your cholesterol level too much. Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat.. |

Well I'm back at fat camp, I lost 7 stone last year but shamefully put 2 stone back on, I've lost 1stone 6 and half pound since going back to class, so only 7 and a half pound to go till I'm back at my lowest from joining last year, I wasn't at goal so even when I get that 2 stone off I have a bit more to go but I will feel better when I have lost what I've gained and loosing new weight as so to speak
The tread mills back out and I've started jogging with the dogs again, I want to be a size 10 for summer I think I'm to tall to go any smaller |

"Today's breakfast as part of my winter bulk:
3 eggs, 2 slices of wholemeal toast, 2 bowls of porridge and a pint of milk.
I have another hour until I can eat again, which will be 250g of Greek yogurt, nuts, banana, 4 hard boiled eggs
Lol
Sounds like you eat as many eggs as me. I love eggs!!
6-10 a day maybe 40 a week lol.
So many variations of eggs though which I agree is so good.
I get lectured about my egg consumption by so many people who think they are bad for you. I probably do 5 a day on average.. But I could happily eat more than that. Just had 2 with some ryvitas and will probably have a 4 egg omelette for dinner later x
I had an omelette for breakfast. I often have eggs for breakfast. I frequently have them with dinner to.
I probably eat 6-12 eggs per week."
While I've been dieting I often hardboil six eggs and keep them in the fridge then when I get the munchies there's something easy for me to snack on that doesn't through my diet out. |

Yes, but in fairness to you I think their climate and diet on that Greek island does lend itself to health and fitness. |

Up to using the entire stack for multiple sets now on the seated dip. Fingers crossed I can make similar improvements in my chest and shoulder strength. |

Jools and I did lot's of legs today. Gonna start introducing more cardio as of Feb and split workouts 50/50 by end of march cardio will be at 70% ready to hit the big outdoors when weather gets better, running, ow swimming, cycling and of course screwing
Jools is toning up amazingly well I have been stuck at same weight for a few months it's getting frustrating. However I know I am getting leaner so fat is shifting I am just not dropping weight .
Testament being first time in like forever I have purchased some trousers from top man that actually fit.
Yay
This time last year I would not have got would not have got my leg in them.
Well done everyone your all doing fantastic.
Keep up the good work. |

Chapeau on all your efforts thus far and long may it continue.
A word of caution, just be careful not to overdo it and burn yourself out.
I understand your enthusiasm which is brilliant.
Try not to put to much pressure on yourself, otherwise you will find exercise will end up a chore rather than something you enjoy.
I am sure that you realise all this anyway, u seem to smart not to know. |

3lbs down this week on my weigh in
That's half a stone off since end of Dec. Three classes booked next week so a few more pounds off then I'll start back on the weights properly. |
