Gents feel free to join in as well, I know you're going to anyway.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Yes. I prefer to meet people who do not have hang ups - jokey or not - about exes.

And who also respect the person the professed to love above all others.

I've no hangups..

I don't point them at any one I've always thought of them as in the third person

Ill wait for more responses before I make a judgement call

Yes they would. Your ex was current at one stage so she must have meant something to you, joking or being rude about her on here would be distasteful, in my opinion.

But you're pointing them at women as a group. That would be my issue, if you thought that I would find jokes about "the wife" funny and find them funny yourself it would put me off. However if thats your sense of humour go ahead

yes it would put me off.

I'm not keen on profiles with jokes of any kind, find them more cringy than funny.

Each to their own and a funny joke is a funny joke. My ex is the mother of my children and I will always have her a place in my heart as she is an amazing woman and I am pleased we parted on good terms. She still cant cook though!

So i mulled it over took on board the comments from this thread...

I came to the conclusion.....

My profile, my choices, if you don't like my jokes don't read them.. Easy to avoid..

If they put you off meeting me cest la vie we probably wouldn't have got on anyway.

Thanks for your opinions folks.

Why make personal comments about someone who isn't on the site to respond? On a swinging site of all things?

If you want to share generic 'the wife' or 'the mother in law' jokes start a joke thread in the lounge. Posting them on your status will present you to the site as being either hung up on the past and bitter about it (too much drama, let's not pick him to play with) or stuck in a 70s sense of humour time warp (oh god, it's just too depressing where's that young stud who just wants a no stress shag let's pick him instead.

Unless of course that's the side of your personality you really want to share. In that case crack on.

This post stemmed from a message I received from a lady we've never spoken before now since saying I like this I like that however your joke put me off,...

So I put the question out there, those that have said 'nope' I'll say thanks for taking the time to respond,

I use my profile to reflect me... and attract people that want to meet me, if my profile ( whatever part) puts someone off its done it's job.

I have to ask JS, why did you post about

it then? I absolutely understand what you say about your profile but pointing out that those of us who responded with a no weren't what you're after is a bit superfluous.

It was a question. Like many topics that are posted, it garnered opinions and might have gotten people thinking.

And

That's not what I said,...

my post says those that said 'nope I thank you for taking the time to respond..."

I was taking your comment in the context of your whole post which I have obviously misunderstood .

Yes, the past should be left there. If you meet someone would you spend the night talking about your ex? Move on!
