Social?
I know a lot of you guys have met already but there are loads of people here that we'd love to meet and I see a lot of posts where people would like to meet.
Something mid country, planned well in advance so that forumees from all parts of the country can attend?
Any thoughts?

Take a look in the swinging clubs/events section and meet requests and parties section, there are normally one or 2 a month advertised and normaly well in advance as well, all over the country  |

Most of us replying in the forum will quote your post as I have. This isn't a chat room they are elsewhere on the site and when I used them move very fast. If you get a private message you will see a notification. You will soon get used to it. |

Lots probably, but unless people look through the forums, there isn't a lot you can do.
There are plenty of posts about them and lots of people put them on their status updates as well |

We are rubbish at looking at other parts of the site. I'm sure our social life would be better if we were more savvy. But sometimes a friend will point is in the right direction. |

Look for what exactly? Excuse for being a bit dumb but are these posts you're all talking about labelled as 'forum socials?'
I'm talking about a purely social, fun, meet night. Not in a club as everyone isn't comfortable in a club - us included.
We have regular Newcastle ones hosted by a lovely couple but by the same token I don't imagine people are aware unless they're told where to look. |

I've been to ones in pubs and clubs.
One of the things I have enjoyed about the club socials is the pub get together beforehand. People get to know each other and relax before getting into glam mode. Remarkably little sex and I've only ever witnessed things that I have participated in (even as watcher).

i totally get that theres no obligations to play etc,, but there is oppertunity too
ive never been to a club before as they hold no interest to me, id just like to meet everyone fully dressed. not in a club theme or dress code..
im no prude but i just like no pressure |

It took me a while but I came to the conclusion that having a social in a club was safer than elsewhere.
Bars and other venues might cancel your booking if they think there might be adverse publicity. When getting a bunch of strangers together you can't vouch for how all of them will behave - some will talk about all manner of things at the tops of their voices. That can feel worse for some people than having a no sex social in a swinging venue/environment where everyone around is in the same boat.

I was sick of people saying they wanted to go to Liverpool/NW socials, but only ever got as far as saying about it on the forums, so I had a word with the team @ Townhouse and got a date from them they had free, hired the club and put it on the forums, now it's a social just for FAB members, but it's in a swingers club, so if people want to, they can play,/,
If they don't, they just socialise. If they don't like my idea, maybe it will prove to others all you have to do is get organising and get people together |

ive not looked into it in great depth due to lack of free time and the people who i would want to meet after years on the forum (mainly the lounge) attend club socials.. ones they attend get spoken about in here.
the ones youve more than likely found would at most have around 4 people id wanna meet so not worth an 8 or 9 hour road trip |

I'm in the forums literally all the time and I've never seen mention of non-club socials; and I wouldn't have a clue what goes on at them. |

I only wanted to meet a handful of people at the first social I went to. Then I met lots of other people and got friendly with them.
I understand the difficulties of finding the time and in the SW it's a bugger to get around.

Not specifically, but they rarely are. Not everyone on the forums can get to the same social. But there will be a fair amount of regulars there and more are welcome.

Maybe start small and concentrate on a specific area (the north?). You will never please everyone and will go mad trying. Lee widnes has organised lots of successful ones so he knows what he's talking about. Only about 1% of site users read the forums. Think about venue, who can go, food or not, drinks etc |

The creators of this site were mythical beings way back before time itself existed. Early profiles were cave paintings mainly of large penises obviously with little or no text, this tradition continues to this day
Unfortunatly not even they can tell you why you haven't spoken to anyone since November, nor do they have any influence on when it is time to create or delete an account.
Personally I would like to offer the advice that you should practice talking then get to a social or three where lots of talking happens regularly |

There are already Newcastle socials so I wouldn't do that.
It was just a thought to try and get the far and wide together that otherwise may not meet.

there is 'swinging clubs/event' and 'meets and parties' the 2nd has a lot of single blokes trying their luck, but also lots of socials and parties as well. The first section is just clubs and events, so any sinle bloke that tries posting a 'fancy a fuck' thread will find it's moved by the mods |

Our 1st social about 16 people turned up, then it was just onwards and upwards after that, we just find clubs easier to hold them in as there are no embarrassing questions and you don't have to try and guess who are just regular vanilla people and who are swingers, just because it's held in a club doesn't mean you have to play or even that you have to witness nudity! There are such things as social areas in clubs! |

I was the one who started the original newcastle socials 6-7 years ago because people were complaining nothing was happening.... so I thought "fuck it" and i went for it...lots of organising, they aren't always easy! people came from all over the country but they were so worth it!!!!
if someone else waits on someone else to do something, then invariable nothing gets done.....
they don't have to be big club do's.... mine were held in pubs that worked with me to make my life easier...... and a lot of the better do's I have been to have been non club related because it doesn't muddy the picture with regard to playing.... |

Oh did you? We came to one of the early ones too.
Yeah it does make for a more comfortable social in that respect but I understand the confusion if it's not confined to one room.
