Mine is a small one too and it cooks two generous portions.
Morroccan chicken stew
A can of chickpeas
A can of chopped tomato
Four chicken thighs
Garlic crushed with thr flat of a knife, I use about three cloves
Smoked paprika (or normal)
Dried chilli
A chopped onion
Put everything into the slow cooker with a little extra water. I like to use at least a heaped teaspoon of paprika and a good pinc of chilli to adjust to your taste. I also brown the chicken thighs in a frying pan first, no oil, just straight in. But you don't have to do that.
If you got a larger slow cooker just double it up.
You can also add chopped carrot and celery. |

Don't add quite as much liquid as you do when making stews in the oven or on the hob as it doesn't evaporate.
I regularly make a cassoulet with lots of chopped veggies and a tin or so of what ever beans I have and sausages. It helps if you brown the sausages first but as long as you don't mind them looking a bit pale you can throw them in as is.
I'm currently on a healthy eating kick so I love my slow cooker cos I can just chop and throw everything in and I don't use any oil.
If you like pulses try puy lentil stew.
A cup of puy lentils
A chopped onion
A couple of cloves of garlic
Chopped celery
Chopped root veggies like carrot, parsnip, swede, turnip and celeriac
Stock cube - beef is really good with lentils
Half a teaspoon of Marmite if you have it
Some Hendersons relish/Worcester sauce
Chilli sauce to taste.
This is another that's good with sausages in.
Water to cover. |

"Beef stew is my fave. I've got a partitioned one and I like to cook sweet potatoes at the same time...they end up really soft, yum. "
Oddly enough I tried them last week, just boiled and didn't like the fact that they were so soft but they are apparently better for me than ordinary potatoes |

I love a tandoori leg of lamb. Marinade the leg over night in yoghurt, onions and tandoor spices.
Brown and then slow cook. Add the marinade as well.
Melts in the mouth and is lovely in wraps or naan. |

Which is why the slow cooker is great! A little light chopping, throw it all in then walk away and ignore it till meal time.
I'm now trying to work out what size chicken would fit my little slow cooker... |

My fave has to be slimming world campfire stew.
Soak a gammon joint overnight to remove some of the salt. Bunged into SC whole with a can of tomatoes, a can of baked beans, a chopped onion, two chopped peppers, a chopped chilli and a couple of tablespoons of smoked paprika. Cook for about five hours on low. Remove gammon and shred with two forks. Bunged back in for another half hour. |

This would be great for role play. My character can be a single guy who has never had a meal out of a slow cooker. Your character can be a sexy lady who wants to impress me on the slow cooker's usefulness by feeding me a series of meals. You can be as persuasive as you like, making me eat course after course. Good eh? Private messages please girls. |

"Goat in red wine and with some thyme, chilli and whichever root veg you have is ace. "
Oh my! I bet goat would be lush, it would melt in the mouth, out of the SC
I cook, Irish stew, beef and ale, steak n kidney (for pies) soups, pork in (pulled pork) soups, my stocks...the list is endless.
I am not keen on mince meat, cooked in the SC though. The texture isn't the same, it just disolves almost. |

fry off the mince as normal (to brown) set 80% aside drop the rest in with all the other stuff to cook as normal 20 mins before you want to serve drop the rest of the meat in the juice and the small part of the meat gives the flavour the rest texture |
