I lost quite a bit of weight on it a few years ago, and rejoined last week. I like it because apart from the weight loss I always feel really healthy when doing it because it forces me to cook from scratch and I eat way more fruit and veg than I otherwise would. I need a structured plan though, can't stick to anything as vague as 'eat clean'.
Anyway, 3.5lbs off so far which is great for me as I lose weight quite slowly.
Good luck with rejoining x |

I lost just over 9 stone going from a size 28/30 to 16/18... I've put a little back on over November/December and struggling to get back on track properly. But I really need to!!!! |

I follow the slimming world plan about 95% of the time as it means I can eat loads of the food I need to help with my exercise/weights and still lose weight. I've dropped 32lbs since September 8th (couple more tomorrow at weigh in hopefully) I don't attend classes though just follow it from home x |

I did Slimming World years ago but never really got on with the red / green day system so have stuck with WW when I want to loose weight.
However it seems recently that people are achieving a better weight loss with SW.
Has anyone switched from WW to SW & if so how did you get on?

Slimming World is first and foremost a business.
If it was sucessful, wouldn't it run out of customers?"
If people carried on eating healthily once they got to their goal weight then it wouldn't have any customers. It's only because a high percentage of people stop eating healthily and put the weight back on. So yeah it's a business that thrives on the fact that people aren't gonna do what they are supposed to. Haha..
I follow the slimming world diet but don't go to classes or pay for the online membership, I just do it at home. It works. In fact I think (having tried a few) that it's one of the better ones as it encourages you to cook from scratch and eat fairly clean foods. I eat a lot as well. I'm never hungry. And unlike things like Cambridge, lighter life and meal replacement shakes the slimming world is something you can keep up in the long run if you choose to continue eating healthily |

So, in a nutshell, clever marketing aimed at the "correct" type of customer?
Serious question, how many "Slimmers Worlders" actually walk to and from their weigh in?

I always swore by WW but have changed to SW now and find it much better than it used to be. The plan is now called Extra Easy and it is. I have put a little on over xmas and have an awful lot to loose but went back last Wednesday and have the determination to stick to it. I hope this helps x |

If I went I would, if I went to the daytime class. The evening one I would hope to get a lift but only because I'm not keen on walking around by myself in the dark. I walk everywhere though as I don't drive. Only get a bus if I'm going out of town. |

I follow the recipes etc but I'm not weighing myself I'm going by a pair of jeans that have no stretch in them they fit perfectly so going by how loose they become. I will not have scales in my house as I know old demons will surface and I will become obsessed |

I like SW especially the new plan that's just been released. It's not a diet it's a way of healthy eating. I lost 4 stone with it before becoming immobile and then put 3 back on but I'm heading back down again and will be back on track once I've recovered from my op. Stick with it as it does work |

No, in a nutshell, aimed at people who find it difficult to make the right choices without the structure of a diet or some kind of eating plan. I'm an educated person and I know what the choices I should make. I know that it's better to just live a healthy lifestyle and go for the everything in moderation approach. But left to my own devices, I don't do that.
Don't be so patronising.
Oh, and I walk to mine and most people in the group seem to as well. |

I live 6 miles away and work 18 so consequently, I get the bus for the first 17 miles, get off early and walk the rest. Gradually increasing the distance but there are no pavements on the roads round here so taking your life in your hands once you get out of the town.

I lost just over 8 stone with slimming world but due to an undiagnosed hormone problem gained 9 but almost got 8 of it back of again. I'm doing it myself now but I swear by slimming world you can eat like a pig

I lost 4.5 stone and am maintaining at the min...im a bit off plan and not going to group but still doing it myself though I need to be stricter with myself to get a stone or two more. Its a fantastic healthy eating plan, I feel so much healthier and happier, and I would recommend it to anyone. They don't push any merchandise onto you like WW and IMHO I think it would be a great assett in GPs social prescribing tools. Haters stop hating...its given thousands a new lease of life and that's got to be worth every penny! |
