The oven was broken so this morning decided to get a new 1
BUT
the big cable we had hard wired was too big for this new oven.luckily know and electrion who came to fit a plug onto new oven. But the socket nearest of course doesnt work!! And then realised hob connects directly too old oven so now have to buy new hob!
AND the found out our entire house is wired into only 4 breakers no wonder the election trips out all the time!!
So what should have been a quick job turned into an all day and bloody expensive job!! Grrrrr

A friend of mine, upon the death of his Grandad, discovered he had rewired the house in a unique and rather dangerous way at some point during the last 30 or 40 years. It made titivating the house prior to sale more exciting than it should have been  |

"I haven't had a hob or oven since the 31 October and found out tonight can boil eggs in a slow cooker. Took fooking ages mind

wired into 4 breakers makes no difference as long as the wiring is set to the rated requirements of the usages upon them
5 amps for lights 1.5 wire
15 amps 2.5 wire
30 amps showers/cookers old wire was 6 wire
i bet you was advised by the electrian to install a new consumer unit box |

Actually electrion is my son's dad he is not charging so has no reason to lie. He is gonna sort it thankfully!!
Just b so much simpler if ovens and hobs had a standard fittings!! |

Might as bloody well be the amount of time it's taking to get house sorted. Scrap that tents = dog soldiers , will take me chances with the house |
