Monsters...a really fucking terrible independant art sci-fi movie..it went down well with cinema critics...fucking awful..beautifully shot...but UTTERLY pish.

apart from the whizzbang special effects...the avengers was terrible...ridiculous aspects just made me cringe(I know its a very very scifi/fantasy movie),but within the universe it created...it was lacklustre and had so many things I just thought..."NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Wymondham

Pacific Rim.

Totally misleading title and complete tosh to boot.

Summary of the plot: Massive robots fight monsters from the deep. Crowbar in a romance, feeble "comedy" and special effects which are disproportionately better than the film deserves and you have one unholy pile of doo-doo.

Directed by Guillermo Del Toro and starring Idris Elba and you wonder how they could go wrong.

they are essentially kitsch movies...even the directors/actors probably never took them that seriously..

its the big movies that get rave critic reviews that get me.

trailer of cloud atlas WOWED me..i thought...film event of the year.

I watched the early american release before it came here...and was amazed how fucking terrible it was...especially tom hanks...a useless story and to top it off...i later went to see it in the cinema with a date, i pretended i'd never seen it..she wanted to walk out half way through..thank fuck we did lol

They filmed it in three weeks, with six production crew members with improvised extras. Gareth Edwards went from directing that to Godzilla. Yeah it wasn't excellent but you've got to give it a little credit

I thought monsters was really good! Inventive storyline, great production values, well paced story that was shot beautifully and portrayed very well. For its meagre 500,000 cost its better than most of the stuff on general release now

ragardless it ranks as the one of the worst sci-fi films I've ever seen...its messages were very obvious..it was about 'the war on terror'...I cant stand over hyped films pretending to be one thing when their agenda is quite different...maybe its classed as the thinking mans sci-fi...too me its the thinking mans pile of pish.
