"I have received a lot of messages from men with that question (1st message). What answer will one be hoping to receive?"
It's one of the most irritating first mails to get. Along with "hw r u" .... I block immediately!
Grrrrrr! |

I think that's kind of an odd question to put in a message to someone really.
It's certainly not the sort of thing i'd ask - not in a first message at least.
Maybe in a message to a 'friend' I'd met a few times.
Not sure what kind of reply the sender is expecting to receive.

It's something I ask if I call my mates or message them....
'aye up, what you up to?'
To which they may reply,
'not a lot, just having a brew and reading' or some such thing....
A conversation has to start somewhere and 'what are you up to' is a fairly stock one....I know its not the most imaginative thing but not sure it's worth griping about.....
You expecting a sonnet perhaps as an opener? |

I'm not expecting Shakespeare's love speeches but again won't be impressed by such an opener |

It's pretty much a given that they're looking at their phone or pc and browsing on fab though? I know we multi task but that's an obvious one surely |

It's a minefield is sending an opener.....some like big flowery messages, some don't, some like to be treat like the only person on fab, some don't.....
I agree that 'what you up to' isn't the most imaginative of opening lines but I think some guys have probably tried all kinds of lines and find it still makes no difference so end up with the wind taken out of their sails a bit....
You rarely see a thread where a bloke complains about opening lines a lady might send.
The dynamic on here is very geared to men having to have all the imagination and make all the effort and are often shot down if they don't match each ladies specific preconceptions of what they should or shouldn't be doing or saying....
Just the way it is |

"Try - sat on the loo reading my messages, wishing I'd opened the window before I sat down "
Brilliant!!
A while ago I sent out a little sexy rhyme i'd written, and it was fairly well received. Didn't lead to any meets, but I get the impression that it brought a smile to a lot of faces - which is something I like to do.
I like to make people laugh.
Thing is, I kinda started thinking that, while it was amusing, witty and saucy, it wasn't very personal and of course had the danger of being seen as a 'copy and paste' job - which is not normally my style.
I'll have to see if I can remember how it went....... |

Resorts World ... join me?? |
You ladies are so cruel
" what you up to "
Is really not the worst first message is it? We might be just the shy type and maybe we are hoping you will take the lead and direct the message in some way .
what are we looking for in reply for me if i sent it you could reply
" god i am so wet i now have 3 fingers deep deep inside my pussy and i don't think i will last reading to the end of your profile before i cum you'd better come round her quick !"
But cant see that happening one last thing just in case
" what you up ladies " |

I think the question may be meant in a broader sense...
The answer to 'what you up to?'
Could be 'just decorating the bloody bathroom, it's getting on my tits a bit so just made a brew and checking my fab'
I understand that due the dynamic on here a lady doesn't have to make any effort in her reply though.....its a buyer's market |

"I had one yesterday that was just "hey" "
Wow, that took some serious effort.
You found a real charmer there. I'm assuming you asked for a meet straight away?! |

I've had one or two like that.
Blimey, I suppose as a single male, I should count myself lucky that i've had one or two, lol "
Subsequent messages consisted of about 3 or 4 words. I really don't know what he was trying to achieve
