Nightmare on Elm Street, the original...

One, two Freddy's coming for you

Three, four better lock your door

Five, six grab a crucifix

Seven, eight going to stay up late

Nine, ten never sleep again.......

The original Nightmare and Halloween had real suspense films. Its not about the gore its about how a film plays with your mind.

oh god i've seen that film, its so bad compared to the first one.

have to say i'm a total film nut and seen most horrors from crappy b-rated ones on the horror channel to some of the best hollywood has to offer.

my vote goes for the last 35 mins of paranormal activity. dunno what it was about that one but it made me go ooohhhhhhhh.

god i need to get out more lol

Omen, the original.

I do not believe I have sat and watch The Exocist from start to finish, however, what I have seen is scary!

Generally, I avoid scary films.

Oh god I love scary movies!

Ignoring all re-makes as they all suck full stop!

As mentioned above Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic.

Exorcist was brilliant but is a bit dated now

The Ring (japanese version) was very very creepy.

I didn't enjoy Blair Witch but I have to say I was left feeling very uneasy at the end.

Amityville was another very suspenseful one

My favourite horror of all time though is actually a comedy horror, I've probably watched it a 100 times, if I were to make my own film it would have to have odd humour, zombies, electro music and pubs featuring in it heavily, thankfully it's already been made... Shaun of the Dead.

.

Remember years ago going to see the original version of Legend of Hell House. At one point a cat is walking along a corridor and you are waiting for something to happen. All of a sudden somebody at the back of the cinema shouted BOO. Everyone lifted their bums of their seats lol

Jaws ....

first saw it on a 747 on way to the USA; the scene where Richard Dreyfuss's character is swimming around a boat attacked by the shark and tries to dislodged a tooth when a head falls down ... made the whole plane bounce as 300 people all jumped at the same time in their seats

Only film that made me turn off as I was too scared was "Fall of the House of Usher"..a real oldy with Vincent Price, my excuse was that I was pretty young, but I still liked horror..except for that one.

Jaws also made me jump out of my seat a couple of times.

The modern ones dont have the same scare value,it's all just blood & guts.More "Eeeew" that "Eeeek"

Mine is the Exorcist. I am still to this day terrified of it. What frightens me the most is the voice. A little girl talking like a man, it really freaks me out, then the face - i dont want to think about it, i have to turn the lights off downstairs as im alone and im now scared.

More recently i was scared of Paranormal Activity. Again anything about ghosts or possession really frightens me.

Saying that i have been on a few paranormal evenings. once spent a night in a dilapidated haunted mansion. it was the best laugh ive had in years, ghosts are not gonna come out and play just cos a bunch of people have paid £70 for the privilege.

You can come to my parents' house for free, I'm house-sitting for them and it's driving me up the wall. There's doors banging, lights switching themself on, and the sound of people stomping about downstairs. My dogs are sitting upstairs with me, they won't stay downstairs, they just sit there with ears pricked up, looking down into the hallway (which is the most unsettling thing).

It happens regularly here, normally I get pissed off with jumping out of my skin or straining to hear if there's someone flesh and blood in the house creeping up on me, I'll shout down to STFU and incredibly it will pipe down for a while, but not much joy this time.

Worst of all, I've just finished writing a long piece praising Richard Dawkins, there is no such thing as God and religion is bullshit. Funny how you feel like changing your mind when you are in an old house, in the dark, and you know you aren't quite alone! I guess watching stupid films like this vampire shite on the telly right now doesn't help, I should perhaps watch Wizard of Oz or something.

Of course the time I really get spooked is when I go to bed. I dread getting up for a piss in the night and walking into someone standing on the landing......

We watched paranormal activity last night along the same lines as cloverfield in so much as its filmed apparently by the people who it happened to, must say i didnt watch the entire film as half the time i was under the covers hiding lol its about a couple who have a horrid ghost in their house and really did make me jump in parts havent been that scared since i saw my credit card bill for last month.

So if you want to be scared then i would say watch it but dont watch it alone xxx Lois xxx
