Has anyone done it?? I had my first class today and as we were all first timers it was only 30 mins (eventually moving up to 50)
Fuck me.. I've never felt like I was gonna throw up/pass out/fall down/die all at the same time before!! It was absolutely horrific!!!!!
So I'll be back there next week for another go!! Ha!! I won't be beaten!! |

"What did they make you do? I Think I'll stick to walking and jogging when I start and swimming "
You do short sharp burst of different things in rounds of 3 but fast as you can. Star jumps. Burpeees. Lunges. That's the easy stuff. Plyometrics which were hard. I burned nearly 400 cals in 30 mins considering I spent a third of that propping up the wall attempting to breath wasn't bad. Lol. |

I do it and have been for a few months now, although I've been on a break since the Xmas period) I usually do it first thing before I go to work, which is a 14 mile cycle |

For me it's become a habit, getting your cardio up is the biggest challenge, once you can get through a session without nearly collapsing from breathlessness, you will find it, well not easier, just enjoyable, it all depends how much effort you put in, I tried to keep up with the DVD when I first started and almost gave myself another heart attack, just go at your own fastest pace. Best of luck, |

I do other cardio classes that are pretty heavy going but that was in a league of its own! |

"I've seen it being advertised and it looks just like it's called - Insanity.
I'm working my way up slowly. Very slowly "
If you try it made sure you have about 2 litres of water, a bucket to throw up in and some pillows in case you need a lie down/fall over |

"I burned nearly 400 cals in 30 mins
sorry, how do you measure such a thing?
also, how do calories translate into say, ounces or kgs?"
It takes 3,500 cals of work to burn 1lb fat. |

Probably one of if not the best home work out DVDs on the internet. I lost a stone in the first month, mos of that was probably sweat.
Just got T25 which is also from the same people, not done it yet due to injury but has excellent reviews and is only 25 mins long.

I've got the insanity workout DVDs and they are solid. IF you are for enough to do the things they are doing then it would get you in incredible shape, even the fitness test that you do at the beginning is hard. I remember doing the 2nd disc and I actually threw up! Now they're just gathering dust in my dvd cabinet! |

Love insanity and metafit too... Have been known to run our of the room, spew like I'm auditioning for the exorcist, mouth wash and back into class
(Yes I carry mouthwash in my gym bag - I have been known to spew on major exertion - so far BodyCombat - 915 cals in 55 mins is the winner) |

There's a reason that Insanity gets good results - its hardcore! I'm a P90X fan myself which is made by the same people but Ive tried a few of the Insanity workouts and they are good. I mean, I felt like a cripple afterwards but they are good! |

Insanity is great although not sure about the classes as I haven't done them. Although I am a bit dubious about only doing it once a week.
If you can stick with it, the DVDs are amazing! A no free weight workout that works. Depending on your intensity and other factors etc you can burn up to 1000 calories an hour (so I've heard).
I've done Insanity and some of the other workouts like Insanity Asylum Vol 1 and Vol 2. Also done P90X but didn't like the trainer changing names of well known exercises - and the participants having cheesy smiles plastered on their faces. |

It's not the only class I do. It gets boring doing the same stuff every day. Must be working ok so far I've lost nearly 2.5 stone since September |

Insanity is okay, we use it for general conditioning a few times a year and have recently started using a weight vest for resistance.
Admittedly, I used to be adverse home workout DVDs but it's better than doing nothing when we can't get to the box. -Mr. |

The only DVD I can do at home is les mills pump. Any really knackering aerobic type ones I just give up after ten mins. I need someone there shouting at me to get a move on. Luckily the girl that teaches my classes is a friend of mine although I'm sure she's meaner I me because of it! |
