I wouldn't chose either of them, I would have paracetemol, ibruprofen, spray decongestant and a cough medicine suitable for the type of cough you have plus plenty of fluids and light food such as toast and fruit.

Hope you feel better soon

I eat very few and its much rarer than that for me to get a cold....possibly down to the immune system rather than a chilli heavy diet?

I think its a combination of both, but probably more to do with your theory than mine

Chicken soup can help you feel better. Research suggests that soup acts as an anti inflammatory and temporarily speeds up the movement of mucus through the nose. Plus soup and other liquid help loosen congestion and prevent dehydration.

As an aside, I don't like the word mucus. It's nearly as bad as moist. Just saying.

I'm not keen on chicken soup. ...give me a curry any day. ...i had curry last night and my cough hasn't been so bad today. ...That could be because I've had it for nearly 3 weeks now so I'm just on the road to recovery

My friend sent me the recipe for Nigella's Hot and Sour soup. Looks like it will work a treat I've been poorly for a month now so I'm hoping the chillis will kick my immune system up the arse.

(Other hot and sour soup recipes are available)

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

If you're buying pre-made then I'd go for curry.

If you're making fron scratch chicken soup (more like a broth really).

...Up on the Downs

Doesn't anyone remember the old adage 'Feed a cold and starve a fever'?

If you have a cold then fill your boots, but if you're running a temperature then keep it light and drink plenty of fluids.

Ive just had for lunch:

Sri Lankan Chicken Soup.

It had chilli's cumin, other spices, coconut milk. It was amazing, it was curry/soup, best of both worlds.

Tesco Finest Range, £1? something, cheap as fucking chips.

Fill your boots and tuck your socks in folks.
