...of a fecking big wasps nest?

Has to be equivalent to at least 100mm rockwool.

Or what's the ratio for diameter to length-of-stick-needed-to-poke-the-bastard-down?

Either metric or imperial units will be fine

Don,t poke it down with a stick at this time of year they are dopey and will sting you, get some wasp killer powder cover as much of the nest as you can safely and then leave them alone. You can remove the nest in the spring.

100mm of rock wool has u-value about 0.4-0.6 depending on brand and how fitted.

A decent chunk of 2x1 (47mm x 23mm metric) about 6ft (1800mm) should do the trick!

Have opted for the "full strength cup of Yorkshire tea approach"

Ie.sit pensively and calmly for 10 minutes, drinking said tea, then get bored, hit it with a broom and run like f#ck...

Lol

Trouble is, in this weather you can only make a cup of tea last so long!

Times like these I think about that new Apprenticeship scheme....
