it really annoys me when people paint ched evans as the victim.... he is unrepentant for any part of that fateful night....

the true victim is in witness protection... has had to change her home and her name 5 times because she keeps being hounded by ched evans apologists....

he now gets to sleep in his old bed in his old home, which is more than can be said for the person who he was found guilty of raping

Ched Evans hasn't shown remorse because according to reports he's appealing his conviction.

I'm not speaking in his defence or anything, just responding to a previous comment

How can a mass collective of people's opinions be ignored. If the other 64,000,000 cared so much the country wouldn't be going to the dogs. Apathy is today's worst crime imo.

Although I don't think this country is going to the dogs, I do think the inaction of most of the population is horrible. It's ridiculous to criticise someone for signing a petition when you're only whinging about it yourself.

If you don't like what's happening, do something so your opinion is counted.

Im sure 'Freedom of speech' has been mentioned in this thread, or at least on FAB so far today.

Seen what has happened in Paris today, that falls under the 'freedom of speech' bracket.

I don't think he can legally appeal his conviction if he shows remorse, as that would be taken as him having admitted he has something to be remorseful for - ie, committed the crime.

Truth is politicians.media (same thing imo) hate change.org and other similar petition sites. This is because they do not want people collectively thinking for the greater good; they want selfish greedy consumers who hate immigrants, benefits cheats, and are oblivious to the fact the elite 1% are shafting us royally.

well he was found guilty of the charges in a court of law... so rather than him "being innocent until being told otherwise" he is now "guilty until further notice"...

p.s he can't actually appeal against his conviction.... that was turned down! what is happening is that the case is being re_iewed to see if there is any new evidence

p.p.s anyone who quotes the ched evans website also ought to know the attorney gerenal office are looking into whether it breaches contempt of court laws....

As i see this the conviction is a bit suspect and he is appealing how could you expect him to say he is sorry if he is having a appeal .

Dont get me wrong rape is a horrendous

crime if he did do it when he has finished his full sentence he should be allowed to work again what the petitions are trying to do is give him a life sentance!

No I'm not, but then I don't have Facebook/ twitter etc.

Petitions are just a way of people voicing their opinions. What would you prefer, we all sit in silence in case we annoy someone who disagrees?

If people do disagree, then they can start their own petitions or protests or whatever they wish.

Free speech and all...

And yes, if a small percentage of our population stand up and speak out then of course they'll have an influence over the rest...that's how campaigning works.

The people who speak loudest and most convincingly tend to get their way.

We could never wait for 100% agreement on a topic before anything gets on.

Its only mob justice if you don't agree with them. Its only free speech if you do.

38 Degrees started off as a Facebook petition group, now they are huge. Their members have helped stop the government’s plans to sell off our ancient national forests. They stopped plans for a massive mega-dairy in Lincolnshire. They helped stop Donald Trump’s plans to build a golf course at the expense of families in Menie, Scotland, who were at risk of eviction. They also helped convince the government to sign up to the EU Directive on human trafficking, helping prevent trafficking in the future as well as making sure victims are properly looked after.

Not bad going really.

I welcome your _iews n lets not be abusive ok all you fab folks out there...Cheers. x

Are you an Oldham fan ?"

yes i am man and boy played youth football there as a kid so think i can have a say . re ched evens personally dont want him at my club but that is out of my hands and is in the hands of the current board who are the caretakers and custodions of my club for the foreseeable future so it looks like we are gona be stuck with him for the next at least 12 months whilst hes here will i go and watch my team yes will i chant his name and cheer his goals no will i abuse him no and why is this ? because this is my team and will still be my team when hes long gone along with the current board . re the petiton ive got one question to ask the 30k folk who have signed the petition ? where have you been the last twenty years since the heady days of the premier league and trips to wembley ? not backing the club thats for sure or we wouldnt be in the position of having to even look at ched evans as we would be able to afford better players but hey you would much rather fill the local pubs and clubs watching city and manure on sky now thats your choice but it takes away your right to have a say at my club .

Moo-Moo land :-)

I keep telling folks, this thread isn't about Chrd Evans! Why don't you start your own thread if you want to rant for or against him or shall I start one for you ALL coz I'm sick of hearing about him...This thread is about what it says at the very top mate n I been to Oldham many times n I'm a Cardiff City fan not Man City..Cheers now
