Remember when cartoons we grew up watching had some really dark moments?
Whether they were Disney or on channels like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, there were always dark moments in cartoons that were either scary or really fucked up.
For example, in an episode of Ren and Stimpy called Stimpy's Fan Club, Ren contemplates murdering Stimpy in his sleep because Stimpy has lots of fans and he doesn't. That is proper dark stuff that is. |

Not so much dark moments, but there can often be sexual scenes 'hidden' in cartoons - I think it's all part of in jokes from the animators. There are some Twitter feeds that points some out! Quote shocking what gets our in some in clear view but you'd overlook them unless you're paying attention to the background |

"The animaniacs is pure filth watching it back now, didn't notice when I was younger"
Yeah. I remember hearing it had some adult jokes on the show. There is a video on Youtube by the Nostalgia Critic which is the top 11 adult jokes in the Animaniacs |

I've just remembered that there was a dark but pretty depressing moment in an episode of Tom and Jerry where at the end of the episode, both Tom and Jerry are sitting on the train tracks waiting for a train to run them over.
Talk about really depressing. |
