Change his cat litter much more often.......wash his tray thoroughly.
If he normally goes outside he might be frightened by a bully cat.....
or fed up with the cold and ice!
If he is an old cat he may have suffered a series of minor strokes which make the poor chap incontinent. Has he any difficulty in walking recently?

My cat used to do that. She refused to use the litter tray if she had already been in it. So I'd empty it before bed and in the morning there would be a poo on the carpet as well as the litter tray.
If it's nothing to do with that, try putting the poo back in the tray and then put the cat in front of the tray.
If you catch him doing it, spray water on the back of his head, it will be unpleasant without harming him.

I have washed and changed his litter tray more often.
He is an indoor cat and I have had him since a kitten and is 4 now.
I haven't noticed anything else unusual. |

If he is still intact then he may need to castraiting, if it's something that's just started and nothing in the house has changed, it could be a sign of ill health. |

He had op as a kitten.
He did have a problem last year when he in bathroom I got him checked by the vet and he thought it may have been a urine infection and gave him antibiotic. Think I need to take him to the vet and get him checked out.
Thanks for all your advice . |

Could possibly be a uti, plus if there has been any changes in the house that may be the cause, or if there is a new Tom cat on the block could also cause the change in his behaviour. I would def get him checked by a vet just to be on the safe side |
