http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11327839/Lord-Sugar-sparks-a-backlash-after-calling-woman-fatty.html
Lord Sugar has been accused of bullying after calling a young woman "fatty" on Twitter.
The Apprentice star was bombarded with complaints and branded "arrogant" and "sexist" after sending the message to size 16 beauty queen Elena Raouna.
The row began after Miss Raouna, 23, sent Lord Sugar a message that said: "Evening sugar can I call you that? Lol."
The multi-milionnaire tycoon replied: "yes no problem as long as I can call you fatty."
He later responded to another follower who waded into the row by asking whether there was "any need to reply in that manner" by saying: "get stuffed and mind your own business." |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
"[Removed by poster at 06/01/15 23:00:46]"
She's thinner than me, and if you called me a fatty I'd deck you.
Honestly, was that the best he could come up with? He's a peer of the realm! A little more thought should go into his tweets. |

His stereos were built to a price for the masses so we all could afford and enjoy them. A bit like the model T ford.
I think it was President Obama who said, 'You can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig' |

For me the first tweet was a very big lack of respect towards lord sugar, would you go up the the ceo of your company and say 'alright (the persons surname)', no you would not, so in what place does that make it acceptable to do it to him.
Did he overstep the mark maybe with his response?, but he is not known for holding back with his opinions. |

"so she was rude to him in the initial communication and he chose to respond in the same vain "
How does 'evening sugar' come across as disrespectful? :s
To me it came across as flirty... |

My my, it's true, we are a bunch of vigilantes via the keyboard. ..
I saw that as she was rude in wanting to call him sugar, which is his surname, plus the fact he is a Lord...
He seems to want to be called Lord Sugar (I know, but) by others, and not by his surname, so he asked her if she was all right with fatty rather than her proper title...

Yes, she was a bit rude but she's young and I don't think she meant to be. She was clearly trying to be funny.
He, on the other hand, was intentionally downright insulting. There are plenty of other ways he could have handled it without that sort of behaviour. And by now he should most definitely be able to behave like a grown up.
He's supposed to be a professional with a shedload of experience managing people. She made a bad joke which fell flat but there was no need for his reaction.
I've always considered him a self-important, arrogant arsehole who takes himself far to seriously and thinks he's better than everyone else. |

Its two individuals having a spat in a public place, at each other. Its no different to TV or down the local boozer.
Sadly, we live in an age where its fashionable to go SJW at anything and everything. Seriously, so fucking what?
If only everyone's ire was so fervent at how badly the NHS is in the toilet due to the Austerity cuts - perhaps we could all tweet Jeremy Hunt and remind him that his name is now rhyming slang? |

How much would you like the country to spend on the NHS? |

Enough for it to work effectively! It needs to be efficient too though, which it currently isn't. |

I've just answered that on the NHS thread. |

He could have said "gobby fat twat" and it'd been fine by me.

He picked that one because it's the usual, easy, go-to insult of the lazy knobs who can't be bothered to think of anything better.
It's always about how women look. Fat and/or ugly. Lazy, lazy, lazy. |

"A non-story, filling inches. Must be a slow day"
Given the amount of response it got on Twitter I'd say many people disagree that a Lord would be so rude. |

Just another method of control. Telling us how we should be. Keeping us "in our place". |

Its no excuse her being young, she was ill mannered, she should of called him Sir alan sugar, doesn't matter wether you like him or not, its got nothing to do with it. There are it seems quite a few people who think its ok to be nasty with others but get very easily offended themselves. |

Now that would just attract another insult given that he is Lord Alan Sugar not just a mere Sir. |

"She was a bit over-familiar but she wasn't being nasty. He was. He completely over-reacted."
He did not over-react. He asked her that could he then call her fatty. And from what I can see, she is fat. Just as I am at the moment after pigging and stuffing my face all throughout Christmas and New Year
And yes, anyone calling me fatty right now will be absolutely correct in saying so; ok, maybe, curvy |

One wouldn't be able to fit it all in a tweet. One would have to resort to facebook or other media. |
