Spent a birthday on your own?
Spoke to family after 12am on your birthday and they haven't mentioned your birthday?
Have no cards or presents to open?
Not looking for sympathy by any means..
Just turned 27.. It's nearly 2am and the only birthday wishes are from random guys on here..
When I was younger I never envisioned my birthdays to be so dead and boring.. Bleh. Maybe I should just go hit the hay? Maybe wake up and feel better about my birthday.. |

For the last seven or eight years I've always spent it working away as work gotten busier every summer.....I don't mention it and it generally passes un noticed....I'll get a card and a little something from my family when I get to seeing them afterward normally but that can be weeks sometimes |

I get that a lot with my family but I don't let it get to me, I don't expect cards but a text would be nice! Friends are better than family, well for me anyway! Happy Birthday tomorrow or today rather and have a good day! Treat yourself at lunchtime!!   |

I have had nothing from friends or family.. No hint of anything.
Just a facebook message from my bestie asking when I'm going out for my birthday cause she's mega busy in jan.
But no mention of sending me a card.
I don't care for presents. They are material goods, cards mean more to me. I always say to people just get me a card and if you can't afford one fold a piece of paper in half..
To the poster who said Mr postman may bring me some cards. Highly unlikely I have little friends and family. Mine a work colleague did ask for my address so maybe she will send me a card. Only me postman will tell me that tomorrow. |

I wish I could do what I wanted. But someone owes me over 300 quid and can't afford to pay me it. Have a tenner to my name and need that to buy gas cause eon are robbing me blind..

That's awful.
My mum always forgot my birthday and how old I was.
She would always remember my siblings.
Mine is 11 days after Christmas. Not hard to forget really.
Sorry your mum forgot your 18th that's a special birthday as well x |

She made up for it by giving me my sisters bookcase 
Make sure you do something for you. Feet up with a cuppa and your favourite film. Or a nice hot bath with candles and a glass of wine. Have a good day even if it's by your own doing x |

I'm taking christmas tree and window decos down today.. That's gunna be highlight of my day.

No I'm not upset cause of the time.
I was saying I was speaking a family member after 12, and she didn't mention 'happy birthday' just reeled off a load of jobs she had to do today. So she could have said happy birthday at 12 when I was speaking to her. |

But its your birthday tomorrow? Could she be thinking that she will tell you happy birthday tomorrow when it actually is your birthday?!
You are upset because someone didn't say happy birthday to you the night before. In my opinion you are over reacting. If by tomorrow night no one has said it then you have every right to be upset. |

Its my birthday now. It's the 5th of jan my birthday from 12am it's been my birthday..
Last year she wished me happy birthday bang on midnight.
I'm not getting upset cause she hasn't wished me happy birthday.
I was asking a simple few questions if anyone else has suffered similar issues.
I'm not looking for an argument. Just wanted to hear other people's stories if they have spent their birthdays alone.

Happy birthday . It may turn out better than you anticipate . I tend to find cards arrive later in the day . Treat yourself to lunch out or some other treat like have your nails done at a nail bar. I'm sure your friends will text you during the day. |

It was my birthday recently and even thou i spent most of the day with her, my mum didnt give me a card or pressie
The rest of my family did thou plus friends and i did have a lovely day but i find it upsetting that my own mum forgets to give me a card, especially as she remembers everyone elses birthday ! |

I had crap birthday last yr but my friends made me feel good as spend mine in refudge but in end was best beening with kids maybe they didnt want to wake you my birthday mean alot spending it with kids so hope u happy birthday hunx |

I did. I woke up at half 9 stayed in bed until around 11. Didn't get dressed properly until 2pm when I went out. Laid on sofa with my kindle right now. Had a good chilled out day.
Loads different to the birthdays ive known. Maybe that's why I freaked out so much.
All in all I've had a nice day.
Can't wait to get paid to treat myself though!! |

When I was in the Army I spent 9 Out of 12 Birthdays an Christmas's alone..now all family gone an just me..its life..its overated.. Happy Bitthday to you tho.. x |

Yes. I never make a big thing about my birthday. I never got anything from my husband for birthdays,Valentines,Christmas or Mother's day. As my children got older one of them might remember but not always. My mum always got me something but I had to go to her or she would get my niece to drop it over. Now my grandchildren insist on cake so I have to do something on the day |
