I was being morbid last week, reading articles about the famous folk who left us last year.

It made for sad reading

I hope this year is a better year : for all of us, not just the famous

I have been looking at the news everyday expecting a big name of some sort to have shuffled off this mortal coil.

It's that time of year. That's why he normally has the thread up by now.

I'm losing track of who is left to go. Some of the Rolling Stones must be getting ready to gather some moss.

It's the unexpected ones that stick in your mind more. I forget that old actors and celebrities have died

Bradford

I was trying to explain to a friend why more famous people have died than usual.

When we were growing up, famous people died, but we've never heard of them. But now we're older, people who we grew up with are dying.

And we don't have to wait a day or longer before we hear about it.

I think Kirk is holding out to be 100. The Vikings was on the other day. Michael might go before Kirk.

I'm sure I saw something about Doris Day last year and thinking she looks good for her age.

I didn't see that one. She was the young one in the shorts and tight shirt?

And whilst not well known here, we have also lost Edward Brooke, the first black guy to be popularly elected to the US Senate (and 1 of only 9 African Americans ever to achieve this)
