"Anyone a member? Is membership good value for money???
" Entitles you to visit stately Homes and other historical sites in the Uk depends I suppose on how often you visit these locations. |

Yes. Search for a deal that gets you one third off and it's very good value. We use our membership a lot and often just drop into a property for an hour to break up a journey and have lunch.
There are some very beautiful gardens and houses the volunteers are usually very knowledgeable and keen to answer questions and some of the cafes do lovely food. |

It's only good value if you use it.
I don't get the membership every year but when I think I'm going to be hopping around the country a bit then I will get the membership and use it a lot.
I always end up spending too much in the shops but where the food is linked to production on the property then I enjoy it even more.
Plus, now that the odious Simon Jenkins isn't chair I look forward to seeing the direction that Tim Parker takes for the organisation.

I get my mum annual membership for xmas and she loves it, goes all the time to places. Its around £55 and considering most places are £10 to get in you don't have to go to many to get your money's worth. |

Combine that with free bus travel for us 'older' folk and you can see why it's popular. |

They are not just about houses they look after one third of the British coastline as well as more land and wild places than the dutchy, they are about getting outdoors and closer to nature.......i could go on .....I won't lol
go onto the national trust website and look there or go to your local property for a chat to the staff. |

My favourite bit is that it was Octavia Hill's idea and John Ruskin's money. An odd couple but without them Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill would have been covered in property developments. Their understanding that you need the green as well as the buildings have shaped the look of this country. |

My family ie my ex husband and my 3 children have been using our 2 lifetime membership cards since 1993
We inherited the cash and invested in membership of English Heritage at the same time
It's been a fantastic investment, and frequently used so we've had our money's worth
Now I just take the grandchildren

Until recently I would annually go on a National Trust working holiday you spend a week working at one of their sites and at the end of the week you are given a free 12 month pass giving access to any of the properties. I have done alot of fun activities from dry stone walling to even helping to build a house. |

I love National Trust places and getting a membership pays for itself after about two/three trips.
I joined a couple years ago, and visited all the places near where I live - I didn't renew after a year cause I'd seen lots.
I now borrow someone's card if I go somewhere else in the country.
Love National Trust places. |

Yes, primarily for the free car parking when out and about visiting interesting places and the entry fee of course, but I tend to use my membership at areas of natural beauty rather than grand houses etc
