...or does everything seem louder in the dark?
I'm not having a mental breakdown about monsters or anything, don't worry xD
I had my light on, watching netflix with my headphones in. Paused it to turn the light off and then when I hit play it just seemed much louder.
Tell me honestly, have I got a screw loose?? |

There's likely a small amount of merit in what you're saying. Usually, if a sense is hindered (in this case, vision) - the other senses seem to work a little harder to compensate.
Think of blind people and their hearing, etc |

Have you considered getting a sink made of foam? Clearly there'd be no other disadvantages with that decision...
But nah, it is totally, very annoying when it happens. Just crept downstairs and every door creak, cupboard opening and breath feels amplified x |
