The junk food thread has inspired me to ask...

What would you like to learn to cook?

Me? I've never cooked a roast dinner and would like to learn.

there is nothing complicated in cooking a roast......it's all in the timing.

I cook pretty much everything I want/fancy. it's my only hobby really.

Use stork for pastry, dont over handle it

Mix the suet and self raising flour with cold water and spoon it over the stew or soup, dont roll it into balls. If you like them fluffy add a half teaspoon of baking powder

I'm not that bad. I work at a pub with a b&b and work the kitchen with my boss, feeding the guests and preparing hot and cold buffets for functions.

However, no one will ever let me forget that I set fire to my kitchen at home 'cooking' a piece of toast for the rabbit's breakfast.

I've done this it comes out really tender and succulent. I've also cooked a brisket joint, pork shoulder and gammon joint in there. ...i love my slow cooker. The meat comes out so tender and juicy.

Ive never cooked Ham Carbonara but will do that tonight. I have half a kilo of the stuff left over.

This Christmas I have perfected curries, they look and taste just like the local curry house, I can even control the heat - next step is making my own Naan type breads.

I really need a clay oven built in the garden. ..would be perfect for cooking naan bread in! Whenever I've made them they have been Ok but probably miss out on being excellent because they aren't cooked in a tandoor...That's my excuse

You can fry a bread in the pan without digging the dog up out the back, ok its not a Naan but it's a 'type', I will have a go at that and follow Jamie Olivers steps on how to do it.

Chicken is the only roast I have never tried in there. Mainly because the other half adores the crispy skin on a proper roast chicken
