"We're lego fans and the husband has got the millennium falcon, amazing and far cheaper "
I saw you can go to the Lego site and download a drawing package and from that they will make a kit of anything
..no cruggle though ?? |

If you really want to build one, go to a decent model shop - if they don't have ones they will probably source one if you tell them what you want. Far cheaper and you built it at your pace, not theirs |

"Have you seen the 3d globe advert too? That works out at £600 " What about the motorbike one over 24 issues; they don't even give a price on that one which probably means it is really expensive! |

The lego falcon set 10179 is going for about £1000-£5000 I should know am still looking for a cheaper set but not the lego small set at £150.. Am tempted to buy the magazine set but my late dad got the build the titanic and must of spent about £1020 to build it |

I was looking in to this, I'd love to have it as when it's finally built, it's an exact replica and scale to te actual movie prop, but 100 issues at 9 quid a pop is a joke, I'd prefer to but the entire kit a once cause as others have said, it could get dropped after 6 months due to lack of revenue an when the do that, ya screwed, a mate of mine had the Lego version, still in the box and unopened, sat in his love, apparently it's his retirement fund ha |

"The kessel run is obviously some kind of obstacle course and the falcon found the shortest route...maybe
In 14 parsecs...
Actually it was less than 12
Haha uber geeek, deep bow! "
Been a massive Star Wars fan ever since I was a kid. Had loads of the toys in the early 80's.
I can probably recite the script to A New Hope word for word. Probably even Empire too.
'Did you hear that? They've shut down the main reactor, we'll be destroyed for sure.' |

Haha I had to google this;
'Threepio, threepio, shut down all the garbage smashers on the detention level, will ya?' |

Not seen the ad on TV, but just looked it up and found the website.
Looks like a fantastic model. With working lights too. Wow.
Thing is, as someone has said before - these things tend to start off popular, but then sales fall off and the manufacturers / publishers can reach a point where they consider it no longer viable.
I once looked at the 'Build the Flying Scotsman' publication and thought much the same - 'What if I'm halfway through and can no longer get the magazine?'
As for the lego version, I've found some fantastic resources to be able to build Lego models bit by bit.
There are websites that provide full instructions and set inventories and there is a website, called Bricklink, which is an international trading post for used lego pieces - yes, you can buy individual bricks from as little as a penny.
I'm using such resources to build some sets from the 80's for my 7 year old son - also nearly finished Collectors Edition X-Wing Fighter and TIE interceptor. |

Brick link is a very good site, got a load of superhero minifigs off there for my boys, with enough extra parts to build a proper doc ock, with massive long legs, not the piddly one the put in the packs |

"and when the volume of sales drop off so they start charging p&p per issue! total rip off"
i'm about 30 odd figures in to my marvel chess set, never been charged postage and packing, and no p&p for my marvel graphic novel collection, 75 books down the line |

I've still got mine in a box in the shed from the toys that were released in the 1980's a few pieces of it missing now though.
Saw the advert for this new kit, but just too expensive at £8.99 for 100 issues. |
