Noisy neighbours grr, payback time!
Jump to: Newest in thread
Day after they moved in 6 months ago, music was blasting 14 hours, numerous occasions of midnight music, tumble drier doing at 4 a.m, )(almost daily) above my bedroom, despite complaints to letting agent, it is still happening.
I finished work this morning at 00.30, went to bed 01.15, music upstairs started 2.am.
I have had enough, I have not played any music for 3 years, but hey ho, time they were taught a lesson, now got a 3 hour classic music CD playing and a 3 hour Opera lined up.
Hmm what else can I ply until 11pm.
I'm the king of the swingers?

"Any musicals I know that would do my besties head in x"
Not doing Musicals for sure, Classical Music & Opera only!
Turning the volume up now so I can hear it in my bathroom as I shower, as that is the level they play it at |

LOL love it I (mrs) have done something similar to this only I put the same song on repeat and went out shopping for the day it was loud enough that they could hear it next door but not loud enough to get complaints off anyone else, my other neighbours still laugh about it now but for the life of me I still cant listen to simply the best by tina turner without a full on belly laugh fairy x |

I believe they were actually slapped with an ASBO once.

Alot of the time police refuse to get involved with disputes about noise and refer you to council. |

At the moment I am seriously loving it, from French to Spanish to Italian then Russian.
Mmmmmm Tina Turner they might like, I know I do.
Best part I have been here for over 8 years, they have been 6 months, I know landlords but they agent is only for their flat, not mine!
Strange how it has gone so quite upstairs at the moment. |

Police are not interested, been there done that with a previous tenant. Council takes too long and not effective. |

His new letting agent, but he doesn't seem at all effective, said he had told them no machines or music after a certain time, as he told me, but still happening hence my music.
Oh and the agent has no control on my flat nor lease
Just letting them know what I have to listen to for one day...at the moment.

I am rather fortunate with my neighbours - or should I say, the good friends that live next door - which applies to both sides.
Never have any complaints to make about noise.
The neighbours whose house is adjoined to mine run a local food establishment and are out six days a week - which means I get to crank up the volume and practice on the guitar without upsetting them.
Mind you, they have said that on occasions when they have heard me, they do enjoy listening |

I'm not entirely sure this is the best way to produce lasting harmony and understanding with your neighbours. In my first year at Uni, the lads in the next block to ours were trying to be The Young Ones, but a visit late at night just to see if they had had a good night and a casual remark of, 'right, I'm off to bed, enjoy the rest of your evening' was normally enough to calm them down. |

"Just go to the COUNCIL and they should sort it but keep on playing to piss them off"
If only it was that easy
Here you have to keep a dairy wait weeks and typically the week you have the recording equipment it all goes quiet. So they then can't do anything
Sometimes the police will come out and have a word, but can depend when you call.

I have zero interest in harmony with idiots who play music loud enough at 2a.m that it wakes me up, then at 6.30 a.m use a tumble drier above my bedroom!
FUCK THEM, I have zero toleranse of this, nor should anyone!
They have not given me any harmony in the 6 months since they moved in, so as I said on thread header " payback time"
I really though you would have just given me a disclaimer! |

Why should I move?
I have lived for here 8 years, and for most part, like it, but for someone inconsiderate I should change my life & go to the trouble and expense of moving ?

Agree with that, we kept a noise diary and reckon it was just to keep us busy and stop us from complaining about the neighbours for a bit.
After 4 months of noisy nights from my ex-neighbours i just put the stereo upstairs in the bedroom, turned the speakers to the neighbours wall and left the radio on constantly for two weeks. Luckily my kids can sleep through anything but did enjoy hearing my neighbours whinge about it, not like council did anything about their noise so i wasn't worried they'd do anything about mine either (and they didn't).
Fix your speakers to the ceiling if you can. Fuck them and fuck them proper. |

I NOW I fully agree with the sentiment, had it, very daly with an alcoholic neighbour who didn't know the difference between 6 a.m and 6p.m.
As they had fair notice in writinf form THEIR agent, not mine, am paying them back.
One day only so they have to listen to the levels of noise if I have to listen to their noise every day.
Speaking to their agent tomorrow about tumble dryer at 6.30a.m / 7 ish and music at 2.am.
If it does any good.
Got to say though that it has gone very quite upstairs, I will turn my music off in 3 0minutes and see if they are still quiet! |

May I suggest some diy......At around 5am!
I find hanging picture on the wall is quote therapeutic at that time of day. But make sure to use lots of nails, wouldn't want the pictures falling off the wall |

I agree with what you say except the tumble dryer a lot of people have that on and washing machine at night as they are economy seven or whatever its called nowadays and just considered as normal noise.
As for the rest you can get logs from the council to record all the activities

Strauss's Blue Danube Waltz is very soothing.
I would keep going to the Environmental Health Department at the Council and keep diary sheets on the noise nuisance. It's frustrating I know , as in my first ever house I suffered 6 months of nightmare neighbours. You could try mediation too to try to sort the issues. Just to see if you can get them to understand how their noise is affecting your life. |

We cured our noisy neighbours in a similar fashion literally over night.
After years of problems I was at the end of my tether.
One day we were all going out to a wedding and Wou be out from early morning till late evening.
They had been very noisy the night before and kept us awake till 5mins
So in daughters room. Turned speakers to face their wall and cranked volume up putting
The blue dab ad ee
You know the one. Now listen up here's a about a blue house......... I am blue dab a dee daboo daa
And the ozone mayaheee mayahoooo.
Crap euro pop
Also las ketchup
All three playing on loop continuously from 8am till about 11:30.
They never had a party again and moved out three months later.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how you deal with noisy neighbours.

I would seek to have them removed
Longer term, far more conducive to a peaceful life"
Have to say have been in this situation before and the above is the best way -don't fight fire with fire - be very assertive with them, don't give them an inch. Absolutely hammer the landlord with complaints - consider getting a lawer to write a letter to them - will cost a bit but is worth considering I think.
PS I do sympathise though - have had this twice and both times they made my life miserable for a while |

Look online for one of the cd's they use to test car stereos. About 40 different tracks of different frequency sounds, ranging from high to low pitches
Apparently the 33htz track is the optimum frequency for making a woman orgasm, so skip that one unless you want her turning up asking you to play it again !! |

After 4 days of 14 hours noise - starting at 5 a.m, I posted a VERY STIFF letter under their door ( think cardboard! ), pointing out this level of noise was illegal in this country, within 20 minutes the noise stopped and they knocked on my door saying they did not know what I meant!
Claimed they didn't have a tumble dryer going at 5 a.m just an extractor fan in the bathroom, invited me into their flat - listened to the fan - no resemblance to the noise I heard, nor by the people in the shop below me, ( it was against a retaining wall ) however, it has now been 2 weeks noise free - perhaps the copy of my letter sent to their agent and my landlord has worked.
A stiff letter worked better than calling the police or the council - this time!. |

Been in my house for 11 years now next door she would switch on tumble dryer at 11pm and it ran till 2am. Meet hubby 7 years ago and he's usually quiet and a proper gent; 5 weeks before Xmas he snapped went across banged at door at midnight until they opened ...stormed in ripped plug out... Since then no more X Factor at 11pm no more tumble dryer no more parking in front of our garage... They avoid him like Hell... okay he does look like a Demon at times when not shaved |

Oh my god at last I can say how Ive been feeling for the last 4 weeks. Now Ive given my neighbours there due coz there new but Im starting to get the hump.
I will tell you the story...
Day one of them moving in we had two sissters and there three kids over. It was a friday night. Now there are three flats here one under me and one on top. ( they moved in up top)
It was a bit noise then normal but thats kids for you. They left at 9.00pm. Now as they left my new neighbour came and asked if it was always this noise as they " young child and wife" could not get there kid off to sleep. I said sorry and told him it was a one off and we would be quite now as they had gone. Thinking this was a little rude as it wasnt that late but knowing how much you can here downstairs in the bedroom I let it go...
Only to be woken up at 8am sunday morning by a budgie yep the moved it in with them. Now birds outside your window are so diffrent to a caged up one. I can tell you.
Now the next day I asked him if he could move it to the frontroom coz you cant here as much there. He moved it for two days now its back in the bedroom and I want to kill it. All day i can here it swarking... Let along there young kid kicking the cot. I hope they move out soon or I dont know what Im going to do I dont want to upset them under me with loud music so Im stuck..... |

Well blackhunterslut if I was you I would knock on there door and say "ive told you once, now im telling you twice, rise an eyebrow and walk off.
That night arrange a gangbang with 6 or so black studs and fuck all night.
Im sure the next day things would be quiter.
Failing that you could always say to your forth coming guests that the party is upstairs. Would be quite intimidating with 6 bbc knocking at your door.lol
just a thought |
