I have just read an article in a well known trashy newspaper that the iron lady was considering banning sex toys in the 1980's. She had meetings with mary whitehouse who was pressuring the government and Leon Brittan was all for it.

I don't think there would of been any point as a woman can use a lot of normal everyday household objects as a makeshift sex toy..i do know mary whitehouse was trying to ban soft porn magazines and movies..etc I think the two of them would of liked to of seen a complete sex ban altogether..both of them were a nasty piece of work |

I only respect Maggie in one regard..perhaps two...she worked like a dog..better than the men..and was smart. I remember the miners strike and the rest. She was in every other respect vile and I have and will never vote tory. Rant over. Feafully the blue rinse brigade and their hollier than thou are alive and well...sex toys...they'd ban fun if they could. |

yes she did..and she used the police force like a private army of henchmen against the miners and anybody else that revolted against her..she is the only prime minister I can think of that can rival Winston Churchill for balls.but she used her energy in the wrong way and will always be remembered in history as a despot to the working class.rant over..  |

The annual release of data under the 30 year rule always has some funny little things you'd never expect.
Listening to it on the radio this morning the discussion was about Heseltine and the US proposed takeover of Westland possibly having links to Libya.
John Redwood pressing for further cuts to public spending and the budget possibility of VAT on newspapers. They forgot to mention the sex toys.

And coming from a mining town I also know it to be absolute truth. A decent number of the "pickets" we're basically paid mercenaries.
There WAS a vote on the strike action in one area...the Lancashire NUM. scar gill knew they were amongst the most militant...but they voted AGAINST the strike. So Scargill called off any other votes and went ahead with the strike anyway. Pointless as Thatcher had stockpiled enough coal at power stations and depots to last for at least 2 years. A classic ambush! |

it would be naive to think that neither side used agent provocateurs to further their own ends such was the desperation displayed by both sides. the difference is when the state relies on immoral means then they show an abject weakness of leadership and should be held to account |

its still not right that they send in army personel to beat up civilians on a picket line fighting for there jobs and familys bread and butter..even if they did have a few paid flying picket thugs or not..? I know quite a few people whos fathers are ex miners and fought on them picket lines..and none of them were paid fuck all..they didn't even get dole money and had to rely on food parcels to survive.very sad |

All I can add is there was a labour government for 3 terms, how many of Margaret Thatchers policies did they undo.... did they reopen any of the mines, steel works, shipbuilding, re nationalise any that were sold off, halted the sale of council houses. ... no, they too knew that was the way forward for Britain... The country gave Thatcher a send off, I know there will not be another PM to have the same send off, yet. The rabble rousing left media, we're absolutely gutted that there was no disruption to the funeral.... maybe the SAS/undercover police or army were roughing up the left rent a mob that day....

Our countries 2 best PM after Churchill she stood up to the unions, they were way too powerful who would walk out on strike if the tea only had one sugar the 3day week winter of discontent she smashed them into submission good for her |

People bang on about Maggie ruining the country, in relation to other countries, we still seem to amongst the better ones, though things introduced by the last 3 times labour government has had quite a bad effect on many, hence the rise in the likes of ukip... |
