I have always been a fan of IPhones but seriously considering changing over to Samsung. I currently have a iphone 5 and with this being dated now it's the perfect time to make the switch. The only thing I think I'll miss is FaceTime. So my question is apart from FaceTime what CANT you get on a Samsung S5 that you get on a Iphone 5, 5s, 6, 6+ |

I just bought the iPhone 6 and to be honest I'm disappointed, there's not enough of a leap of tech for my liking, and I've gone from the 4 straight to the 6, I'm on my second samsung tablet though and I'm impressed so who knows that might be the way to go |

Android phones are now head and shoulders above iphones, specifically HTC and Samsung, they implement new technology far earlier than Apple can and obviously there is the huge cost difference. Better apps, more functionality. Android phones generally all use the same charger as well
I once loved Apple products, but they have lost their way and are now purely fashion icons (none of this applies to Apple computers btw which are the nuts) |

I went from iPhone 5 to samsung s5.
still on the fence about which I prefer. I find the s5 laggy at times but this can prob be fixed with an sd card.
I think most apps can b used on Apple and android. And android is easier to put and manage music on |

When IPhones first came out they seemed good and you'd have thought there technology would have got better and better but recently they just seem to be out for the money! Nothing's really changed and they'll bring out the next phone next year most likely with a bigger screen and a a better chip *yawns* |

Definitely Samsung they interact with all kinds of other technology easily, whereas iPhone only interacts with apple stuff. I've always found Samsung's so much easier to use and they're making some great phones right now. |

Mrs H was an Apple fan but just changed from the iPhone 5S to Galaxy Note4 and loves the Samsung. She liked the simplicity of Apple and in fact welcomed the restrictions to such a degree that she was initially overwhelmed with what the Samsung could do. More than anything she (and I to be fair) love the size and clarity of the screen. |

Pretentious twat here
However, dropped my 4 the other day and it's held together with duct tape at the mo.
Tbh I'm fed up with iTunes.....
My MP3 player is a non-phone Galaxy and I love the drag n drop from Windows File Manager without having to jump through hoops!
Plus I can bung a large Xd card in it when it runs out..... I've just had to delete about 200 pics (mainly filth) coz my iPhone wouldn't take any more pics!...full
So an Android device would store all my music (iPhone can't) plus, shock news, make phone calls
Not definite but looking
Brothers kid had an Amazon phone for Xmas...said its brill.... Think it was amazon...I had to recheck coz I didn't know they were doing phones |

Samsung all the way, Iphones are cheap and crap and break too easily. Love my Samsung galaxy s5, so cool you can even turn off televisions in pubs when they are showing football... wins hands down every time. |

Having always been an avid hater of all thing Apple, it's Samsung all the way for me. I had the S2, S3 and now the S5 ... love it, love it, LUUURRRVE IT!!!
My kids (grown up sons) aren't quite as bothered about the Apple/Samsung feud so both have HTC One M8's which they love.
Basically, as someone has already said, Android phones are just as good, if not better than iPhones, so as long as you find one you like the aesthetics of, you can't really go far wrong |

I've had an iPhone since they came out, purely because I'm one of those apple freaks but to be honest it's shite, apps run slow or not at all, it freezes sometimes when txting, the camera is crap for taking pics (yes I know I should use an actual camera but who does these days) and I'm charging the bloody thing almost twice a day, when my contract is up, I'm seriously gunna have a look and see what's out there, got another year to wait yet though |

We thought the camera was the weak point of the Samsung so went with a Sony z3 for Tigs. She is pretty happy with it and the camera does seem very good. A lot of people are migrating from IOS to android at the moment. I love my windows phones though lol. I really like android 5 though its really starting to feel sick now.
My gripe with android is that there is no guarantee that the Samsung device will get the latest version of android which I would expect it to

Never had an iphone always favouring Samsung. Know people that have iphones though. Both do pretty much the same stuff all be it in a slightly different way.
To me it's horses for courses. It all depends what you want out of it.
I tend to favour the Samsung due to the pricing plus the more open nature of a lot of the apps and easier interaction with pc/laptops. |

Thanks!!
We only use Macs because they are far superior to all the other shite out there but we both use Samsung's and wont be changing any time soon. Iphones just seem to be the massive let down of the Apple range, they just seem to be hard work compared to the Samsung

So many times I hear of people just doing the slightest of drops with their iphone and screens cracked. My Samsung fell out of my hand and dropped down the stairs which weren't carpeted and other the battery and casing coming off nothing happened. That's another thing you can replace the battery, put in an sd card but can't with iphone. The Ace 4 looks great bought ginger it for xmas and fantastic camera! Samsung all the way |

when looking at any phone, I look at the internals. That is, the processor, ram, and storage, then things like the camera and actual size and style of the phone. The iphones are so far behind its amazing, Yeah they have a decent look but they that is all they are - superficial.
EG. I had a motorola Atrix, bought it over 5 years ago and was equivalent to the first iphone. It was as fast, if not faster than the iphone. It had a fingerprint reader 5 years ago! Smooth as silk! Only replaced it as I dropped it earlier this year. The Iphone introduce in in the iphone 5s... and everyone thinks it's a new thing! It doesn't even work that well from what I hear?
Have a look around at what phones are actually available. the choice is endless. Dont buy something commercial. Buy something that will last, that will suit you and will be worth it's money.
(I got the xperia z3 compact - it blows the i6 out of the water). Cant believe you simply cant expand the memory on the 6! pff |

I'm throwing a spanner into the works. Neither iPhone or samsung, but I would go for a HTC.
I got my first iPhone which was the 5 the day it was launched, loved it and can see the appeal of iPhone. However, hate iTunes, hate can't expand memory and battery life not great.
This time I went for Samsung S5. Nice phone but too plasticy, doesn't feel like a phone in your hand.
So got a HTC one m8, by far the best phone ever had. 95% metal body, which not only looks good but also feels good in hand. Large screen with front facing stereo speakers. Twice the spec of iPhone 6. Camera is great, features such as 360° pics and 3D pics. Twin rear lenses which means can take some decent pics and do what would normally do with an slr camera.
But at the end of the day it's your own preference. |

Got the i4 and S4mini. The i4 was fantastic until I put iOS7 on it
Prefer the Apple interface over Android (notwithstanding iTunes...). But the S4 is a nice phone.
I'm tempted upgrading to the i6 though and still be able to facetime the grandchildren.

"Xperia Z series
This.
I'm in the process of updating from an iphone 5 to either the iphone 6 or the Xperia Z3 or 2, the latest one anyway and still can't quite make my mind up.
(him)"
they have designed the z3 for the iphone users to get all their contacts/tunes transferred over easily.. it comes with a cable - never used it though. The z3 does update a lot in the first few months... irritatingly so, but does calm down - but it does annoy me. Nice fast phone - put an sd card in and it's blazing |

"Samsung is generally much better, I think. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S2 in a mop bucket recently so a friend gave me her old iPhone 4. No bloody comparison tbh - Samsung all the way. " if it had been s Samsung S5 it would have still worked after being in the mop bucket as they are waterproof...I find Samsung more durable than Apple...Niece has broken 3 iPhones in the time i have had my S5 |

I've had the Samsung note now for years I'm on the note 3 now, I love them I've never had any faults on any of them the battery life is a good day of browsing, you can open up 3 apps at a time without any sluggishness which is great as I often have utube or Spotify listening to music while browsing the web, it connects to my tv perfectly and my pc and it comes with a full manufactures warranty for 2 years.
I've got great big hands so the size has never bothered me but my wife thinks it's too big |

Went from apple to s5.
found the iPhone easier to use.
The s5 can be used for much more things links up lot better with other tech.
Better apps for watching any tv show film or channel on the Samsung.
found it better on samsung after you get used to it and learn to use all the options it has. |

I've got an S4 and a Note 8 tablet, both excellent bits of kit. I also have an IPhone for work. I hate the IPhone, the mapping system on it is crap, and it just seems fiddly to use compared to the Android phones. |
