We've not used a library for years since many books have become digital and rare books are easier to purchase these days. -Mr.

I've not been into a library since I was little. I haven't even set foot into the new library in Brum....which I now understand that half the staff are losing their jobs. What's the point in building a swish new library and then loose half the staff..

Libraries will soon become a thing of the past as local councils try to save money. With books online/in electronic format, and with most people having the interweb thingy for research, they are one of the places that can realistically be trimmed back. Shame, as I love libraries, usually a peaceful place to sit and read and while away a few spare hours.

I take the kids fairly often. I don't really have time to read at the moment.

My local council are moving the main library from near the bus station to the other end of town.

People moaned on Facebook when they found out.

My gaffer uses them a lot for spoken word books. I'm a bibliophile and buy no end of books.

With the advent of e-readers, it is likely to spell the demise of many libraries as well as bookshops, in the same way that music downloads have largely replaced CDs. I guess it's a generation thing.

I haven't been a member of a library for years, all the nice ones have been closed down due to council cuts anyway.

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

I pop into ours occasionally and it seems to be mainly students or unemployed folks using the computers to do their jobsearch. Don't see many peeps walking out with a book under their arm

i think the demise of libraries would be quite sad .. for alot of people it is more than actually reading a book but also offers social interaction in the same way that churches do ...you dont need to be knee deep in religion to find the service of your local church important

I haven't been in one for years but after buying a few books and getting through them in fewer days I'm going to start going to dig out some good books

Libraries do tend to attract some aromatic characters. Warm, clean and free with toilets, newspapers and books.
