The Vengeance trilogy is pretty badass...
- Sympathy for Mr Vengeance
- Oldboy
- Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Can we really mention The Godfather given the third is a steaming pile of shit?

"The girl with the dragon tattoo...not to be missed..but the swedish original...not the holiwood version..." .
I actually watched this version last month, what a great film with terrific acting and I'm not sure I would want to watch the Hollywood one now.
As for trilogies my favourite is the director Alan pakulas trilogy of
Klute
The parallax view
All the presidents men
Awesome films examining paranoia and conspiracy which I love |

The millennium trilogy(the books) are incredible worth wading through the heavy first chapter. The Swedish version of the film is very good... The Hollywood one much slicker but lots lost in it being so.
The Lord of the rings is a definite recommendation.

Why no patience for fiction novels? I enjoy movies but am definitely more of a bookworm.
there are some stunning novels out there that are unlikely to ever be made into movies yet are delightful to just get lost in.
Film adaptations success depends on how well the screenwiter ect interprets the original lines of the novel and that for me means am really picky with them! Lol

I think it's the difference between my wife and I.
She is all imagination, I'm a visual person with very little patience for imagination, even slow films I struggle with,I really need the opening of the film to grip me or I'm lost before it starts.
Whereas she reads more books than watches films and has that slightly annoying habit of telling me what the character is like in the book while sat in a darkened cinema |

So much better to let your imagination lead you than be led by someone else's! You just need to find the right type of book.
Oh that sounds familiar.
cant help it though, esp if I feel the adaptation hasn't done them justice and my oh is missing out on key info

The last film it happened at was jack reacher..... But he's seven feet ten and like a gorilla!!..I took her to Paddington just to make sure it didn't turn out like that again!.
I'm currently reading... Super fuel, thorium the green energy source of the future... It's a gripping read but I'm annoyed at never going to watch the film with her and to point out, ha in the book they started the thorium reactor in 1949!!!. |

"Ah I want to see Paddington!
Why are you reading that? I amazoned it to see what was all about and looks heavy going!
" .
I was actually pleasantly surprised it was a very good family film.
It's a life long interest and I'm a little bit of a science geek, you see I can do heavy going if it gets my attention from the start... I'm currently being forced to read 50 shades by the wife... I don't think I'll make the second book, it's OK but not my cup of tea although you get the feeling it's wrote particularly for women. |

I hVe to say it actually appeared quite interesting but I've not the time to take on any more books! Lol
You should try for the millennium series then, if you can do sciencey you can handle that!!
Gosh fifty shades..... Oh the controversy. It's not the worlds best written book but it's not the worst either, and there's definitely better out there for the genre. It was taken to the publics heart though so clearly something was done right. |
