Spent last few months test driving lots and struggling to make mind up to narrow down the following....., ave 60k miles per ann, fuel not an issue.
Mercedes e350 amg
Bmw 335xdrive msport
Bmw 535d msport
Audi a7 3.0d quattro
Or.....
Landrover discovery

The 335 just blew me away with pace of the thing, 90% time I don't need space at all....
Each of the 5 had great points hence getting stuck and struggling to narrow down..
Currently in c350 amg and its set a fairly high benchmark to better. |

Project manager and average 4000 business miles per week, uk and continental...plus nipping to Alps for a ski |

Anyway, I'd go with the Merc  "
Just the summer music festival circuit is around 18k of the distance (up, down, east, west of the country, would be nice if they planned them with each online and making nice route lol) |

It's down to the way you drive. I've got one of each and never had a problem. Mind you, we don't see much snow down here |

Never had a problem with our beemers in the snow! The 335D was very well behaved as was the 330D and the 320D. But I generally find it is the driver not the car..  |

The Mercedes are great, especially the amg models. I'd go for that over a bmw, especially if you need to travel, try going on snow in a beemer. The audi would be a safe choice too |

Car type and drive is largely irrelevant if you have Cold weather rated tyres. Amazingly in Germany they have laws to make sure they are fitted.
We are so behind in the UK when it comes to tyre type.
I have all season fitted (Goodyear and Hankook both rated with the snowflake symbol) and went out onto the hills when it snowed. Zero traction or braking issues even when playing around like stopping on a steep ice covered incline and setting off without wheel spin.
It doesn't matter what car (front, rear or 4 wheel drive) all power, steering and braking is done through the tyres - they are critical but no one wants to know. |

That's because no one ever looks at your tyres and goes ooooo there expensive, not like a shiny new 4x4...bragging...It's a typical British trait |

I can usually tell when a car's in for MOT how well it's been looked after simply by looking at the tyres -
All same make and model or matching axles sets of quality brand tyres = well maintained.
Cheapo Chinese Ditch finders (CDF's) a load of problems usually.
Love watching Range Rovers slither all over the place on low profile 'sport' tyres or aformentioned crappers...
There's a guy with an older RS4 nearby with a brand new set of Michelin Sport pilots. I can imagine it's immaculate.

I looked around for months and I noticed that they were all the same, just boxes I'm wheels with five seats, 11 computers and no fucking personality, so that is why I am now the owner if the most beautiful 1968 Mercedes 280se, when was the last time YOU saw chrome on a car? I don't care what anyone says, the cars built in the West Midlands are about as much use as our football clubs, and will let you down just as often, and most modern cars have all the charisma of a single bloke (with a wife who doesn't understand him) with a blank profile and no more than three words to put on first message, my car makes a statement, it says dont give a flying one what society thinks I should do, ill do it my way  |

Since it's a company car why not get something less boring than just another Audi, BMW or Merc. What about a Maserati Ghibli? So much more style and they are no more unreliable these days than the Germans and they even do diesels. |
