A filter button on forum posts to "block" from view posts specified by name.

I've just read a anegative thread, the OP posts every second or third post,ranting and raving away, unpleasantly.

Or filter humour, exclude odd balls etc

Just a though.

There was talk about blocking individual posters a while back but I can't find the thread admin started on it

OK I hav'nt really spent too much time looking for it but I know its there somewhere,ill keep looking

I must have a special ability

If I see a username I feel writes dross, I seem to be able to skip what they have typed if I don't want to read it.

I must have a built in button.

Right away i know who i would block.

When i see their/his/her post i also avoid reading it as its boring and in most cases absolute shite.

what would be the point.it would end up,you only saw the posts of people who agreed with you. forums are about different opinions.if thats what you want.just message yourself.then reply,with i totaly agree.you will soon block yourself,because you cant stand those sychophantic pricks.

I don't like the idea I only bought the thread back from months ago because mushroom asked the question and I knew admin had been thinking about it

I do like Polo said,avoid posters I don't particularly enjoy reading unless I have to step in as mod if it goes bad

I've decided against it too.

There would be too many gaps, context lost. Variety is the spice of life, and it does give an insight into like minded peeps.
